Microsoft Azure Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • ckittel Chad Kittel (@ckittel) reported

Being behind @Azure Firewall, an NSG, #Kubernetes NetworkPolicy (Azure or Calico), service mesh router rules, and ingress route rules is wonderful until the exact moment it's not -- and that comes at the exact time "WHY is that traffic blocked!?" is wailed. #AKS

  • jenstirrup Jen Stirrup #Leadership #WomenInTech #Diversity (@jenstirrup) reported

@isaac_abraham @jamesdrandall @Azure I worry it just adds another layer of complexity. It might work for first and second line support where the user doesn't know how to do something rather than 'it's broken' but if it's broken, you want to speak directly when it's impacting BAU.

  • isaac_abraham Isaac Abraham (@isaac_abraham) reported

@jenstirrup @jamesdrandall @Azure I think everyone has had problems with Azure support. Partly why they're trying to move everyone onto CSP - outsource the support to third parties.

  • johnkors John Korsnes (@johnkors) reported

Azure Functions (on .NET) rant. Feels like they glued existing Azure resources together and smacked the «Serverless» sticker on top. Did they ever ask a REAL customer when they formed this product? @Azure @dotnet @AzureFunctions

  • jamesdrandall James Randall (@jamesdrandall) reported

Some of the errors that come out of @azure deployments really are useless. I can literally see the code: try { // do some deployment stuff } catch { LogError("Bad JSON content"); } This stuff matters. But hey.... you can do ML in just 5 minutes and with no code.

  • Commvault Commvault (@Commvault) reported

How many Petabytes of customer #data did #Commvault move to @Azure in just 6 months?

  • freestylecoder Chris Gardner (@freestylecoder) reported

@Cynergistic1 @Azure We're using it onPrrod but not Dev. Customer doesn't want to pay for it there, and I've never had this much trouble connecting the remote debugger to Dev before.

  • TAYLORLEVELLEE Teeray (@TAYLORLEVELLEE) reported

@Azure need help with a $700 charge. I’m only hosting 3 small websites & an SQL server and database. Have tried contacting support through the portal but haven’t had success. Please get back to me - having a hard time understanding the way resource groups/ app services work etc

  • giuliano_b giuliano_b (@giuliano_b) reported

@vyrotek @Azure I've used LD quite a bit. This seems to have a lot of the important bits honestly like flexible targeting. I didn't check the support for client side apps though.

  • BugsShah bugs.bunny.shah (@BugsShah) reported

@googlecloud Your tech support was awesome. Board,I want to go live on @googlecloud Board: It has to be @Azure Me: Well then you deal with all tech support and please fix that UI on the portal. It is horrible. Board: You worry about your own UX Me: Fair?

  • freestylecoder Chris Gardner (@freestylecoder) reported

I'm other news, I can't get remote debugging to work in @Azure #AppService, but I can't replicate the problem locally. What's the #cloud equivalent of Console.WriteLine()...?

  • J_aa_p Jaap 🇪🇺 (@J_aa_p) reported

@shanselman I've (for decades) as much as possible on autopay: utility bills, healthcare insurance, rent, (local) taxes, I'm not rich, but I do have a savings account and I don't use a credit card. So, no @Azure for me ... not my problem.

  • jamesdrandall James Randall (@jamesdrandall) reported

@jenstirrup @isaac_abraham @Azure Using Postgres (and Docker for compute) enabled me to pick up and move projects fairly straightforwardly between AWS, Azure and Digital Ocean. Whereas Azure SQL involved a price hike on AWS and no support on DO.

  • isaac_abraham Isaac Abraham (@isaac_abraham) reported

@jenstirrup @jamesdrandall @Azure Yes, it's another layer. But as we both know, first line MS Azure support is pretty woeful. I had a customer recently actually tell them to stop calling to resolve an issue. They would phone randomly throughout the day, never booked in any times. And couldn't solve the issue.

  • isaac_abraham Isaac Abraham (@isaac_abraham) reported

@jamesdrandall @jenstirrup @Azure But yes, the underlying issue is MS support. And don't get me started on MS Partner support - they are even worse, outsourced to some random folks. It took them nearly three weeks to figure out why our sponsorship funds had prematurely terminated.

  • jamesdrandall James Randall (@jamesdrandall) reported

@jenstirrup @isaac_abraham @Azure I've had experience with CSP support. For anything beyond things we could solve ourselves it rooted through to the stock MS support and was just another layer of, as you say, complexity and confusion - we had to step in to restate the issue. Sticking plaster on a gaping wound.

  • jamesdrandall James Randall (@jamesdrandall) reported

@jenstirrup @isaac_abraham @Azure I agree completely. There is too much focus on the "5 minute demo", too many real world issues (I posted about the current state of deployment the other day), and the support is poor. I'm no longer comfortable using it without an escape hatch. Hence Postgres at the data layer.

  • jenstirrup Jen Stirrup #Leadership #WomenInTech #Diversity (@jenstirrup) reported

@isaac_abraham @jamesdrandall @Azure Azure Support reps do not receive any #DEI Diversity and Inclusion training for customer service. For all the song and dance about #Diversity that Microsoft makes, it does not extend to their support teams. So that adds an additional layer when they are just plain rude

  • jenstirrup Jen Stirrup #Leadership #WomenInTech #Diversity (@jenstirrup) reported

@jamesdrandall @isaac_abraham @Azure Yes, I find that the support from Google GCP is actually the best, to be honest, although AWS offer great support. GCP communicate like I'm a real person. I've had problems with Azure support and I do try and get a male to speak to Azure so the request gets taken seriously.

  • fmc_sea Fernando (@fmc_sea) reported

TIL that @Azure Resource Manager templates still make you delete resources manually? You describe all your infrastructure you want to spin up, then if you want to tear it down you either have to kill the entire resource group or just manually delete each resource?

  • SteBobRoughley Stephen Roughley (@SteBobRoughley) reported

@Azure I am getting billing demands for a subscription I do not have access to. Please can you advise? When I try to use the support portal it asks for the subscription it relates to but the subscription is not in the list

  • MartinDotNet Martin Thwaites (@MartinDotNet) reported

    @stack72 @PulumiCorp @Azure I'll never say no to a free t-shirt :)

  • jamesdrandall James Randall (@jamesdrandall) reported

@jenstirrup @isaac_abraham @Azure If you're lower down the ladder you're stuck with the call center support which I concur is absolutely dreadful. Something I've raised a few times (with MS) is that the small spenders of today are the big spenders of tomorrow and pushing them away is really not a good idea.

  • blckmstr blckmstr (@blckmstr) reported

I'm sorry I can't believe people got lured into using @Azure Worst cloud offering out there. What in the sweet Jesus is the AKS team doing

  • KunalSingb Kunal Singh (@KunalSingb) reported

@Azure 🔴My #coding life. 99 little #bugs in the code. 99 little #bugs in the code. Take one down, patch it around. 127 little bugs in the code...

  • Vigneshgr8 Vignesh N (@Vigneshgr8) reported

With @awscloud it' as easy as modifying an EBS volume. With azure, you cannot increase your volume without shutting down the VM. For the love of god, why do people use @Azure ??? Is it like some sadist thing where you like things that are difficult and doesn't work?

  • Pixel_Robots Pixel Robots. (Richard Hooper) (@Pixel_Robots) reported

I can confirm that @Azure ARC Kubernetes which GA'd this week does not support ARM processors. Thats rather upsetting! @ThomasMaurer can you fix this please :)

  • PaulChisholm Paul Chisholm (@PaulChisholm) reported

@Azure Does your SMS service offer support fir Canadian 🇨🇦 numbers? Thank you for your time. #Azure

@TheeKinger @Azure Oh damn. You know what.... you don’t work for Ferguson. Nvm

@Azure no. fix your stuff then sell it.
