Elbow Grease Games (@ElbowGG) reportedJust tried to buy something on @discord via the mobile app. Instead it reported a vague error message with no nudge towards a fix. The error seemed to be that I need to add a new valid payment method. However, the Discord mobile app seems designed to not have this feature in the billing settings of the mobile app (must be related to imposed Apple policy shenanigans). Turns out, I have to log in through the web site in Safari to add a payment option. However, the mobile web site is optimized to constantly try to send me to the mobile app at every turn (while hiding links to the browser login page I need). So I had to Google search for the hidden Discord mobile Safari login page to get there on my phone. Once logged in I finally saw in the billing settings the add payment method option which is missing on mobile. But now even with a successfully added payment option, my intended purchase still fails in the app without a clear error message. I suppose most discord users were originally pc gamers but I don’t think you should make your mobile monetization flow into an Escape Room puzzle if you wish to maximize revenue going into your IPO. This is unnecessarily difficult at every step. TLDR: I was never able to buy my item and therefore Discord never got its cut. @mitchlasky if you see this, maybe you can put in a word with Discord product? Money is being left on the table.

Unless they resolve my problems SOON I will not be buying nitro or premium and I recommend no one else does. They won’t help you.
