@DrCarlisC @etrade No it’s for setting up a will via @Farewill. If I’d have foreign assets I can’t do the online service but have to do via phone with a lawyer (and thus more expensive)

@etrade And on top of that, to complete the beneficiary IRA distribution form, your customer service rep asked me what I was using the money for. Since when has that been your business? It has never been asked of me by your forms or your reps in the ten years I have been with you.

@etrade What the heck is going on with your company? The website will not let me submit a beneficiary IRA distribution form. You won't fix this. You removed the option to send messages to customer service. You kept me on hold for 3 hours because you do not use a call back service.

@etrade Customer service hold times are ridiculous. I would never recommend anyone to open an account with eTrade. All I want to do is close my account and it’s apparently not possible online. They make you call in and wait for hours.

Does anyone know if anything I own on an account like E*trade counts as foreign assets if I’m a UK resident? Or does that depend on which company I own stock in specifically? Asking here because it is impossible to get in touch with @etrade customer service
