Despite providing valid phone number no code is sent, just get "Unable to use your phone to verify your identify." Agent acknowledge this is known issue

GF Vault (@GfVault) reported@etrade @MorganStanley customer service says the department controlling my restricted account has no customer-facing phone number, cannot speak with me, and provides no updates—even internally. Nearly $10,000 remains frozen while I’m told to keep waiting with no timeline.

I have to warn you that e*trade stands out in a very bad way from most other online brokerages in that you still charge fees on mandatory corporate actions on equity holdings. Your UI is top notch but these fees have driven me to open accounts at other brokerages. I hope E*trade reconsiders and eliminates these ridiculous fees to stay competitive.

Don’t switch for the bonus. If you’re already there, leave—you don’t know what good service feels like.
