Joe Shaffer (@Shoelessshaffer) reported@etrade liquidated a 7 figure stock portfolio my wife inherited into a managed fund. When there was confusion about which accounts funds were going into, E*trade did nothing to prevent the rebalancing/ liquidation. This triggered a sizable tax event. E*trade is the worst.

Charlie Harper (@CharlieBHarper) reported@etrade That call, where I was again told there was a "known technical problem" was resolved, despite it taking the online agent 45 minutes of mostly delayed, circular conversation before he attempted to understand the problem, much less direct me to a solution. But he continued to tell me he couldn't get into any specifics unless I capitulated on my identifying data.

I’m certain Morgan Stanley holds everyone’s dividend payment overnight so they make money lending it to other institutions with USD LIBOR just like banks do maybe file a complaint with the SEC?🤷

Alexander Lee (@alexanderlee1) reported@etrade I print PDFs of portfolio positions, and one of your incompetent web developers made a major change that screwed up the formatting. Left image was from 2026-04-02, which has been the same format for many years, perhaps decades. Right image was today (2026-04-06), where the dropdown for Account and View now hogs up precious vertical space. Please revert to the previous style ASAP. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

MU will issue shares and dillute shareholders. A new competitor will steal market share. The AI trade is already unwinding. Bitcoin will rip to 500K and crash to 350K and you’ll have this same convo with someone else.

Absolutely no fees for banking with minimum balance which my Roth satisfied. With that comes the ups and downs of “virtual banking” I have not had a traditional brick and mortar bank since year 2000. Back then people thought i was crazy “your information will get hacked etc”. The etrade acquisition by Morgan Stanley complicated some things. Extremely slow to update systems to modern day standards. Took years to fix some online issues and services offered. Simple things like access to Zell. I registered for ipo access over a year ago. Nothing to do with Soace X. Everything to do with being prepared for future opportunities. I would be cautious with situations where someone is registering too close to the time they want to participate in an ipo. Not saying this person is not qualified but sometimes the things need time to iron out. Phone calls with etrade representatives etc.

This is one of the worst practices across multiple industries that is helping propagate identify theft. It needs to be banned.
