feb 16 (tuesday): online chat with samsung customer service via fb messenger. they arranged for my device to be collected. next day collection was fine for me so that's what i requested. they were quicker to reply than expected. btw reply on fb messenger was quicker than twitter

@WilfSplodNokit Anyway, as far as I know, whether you use Clubhouse, WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook Messenger, or don't use them at all, your number is still given to them whenever someone who has it, consents to sharing their contacts. That's how people know if you use the service.

My phone was becoming really unreliable, and borderline unusable outside the home, with the battery constantly whizzing down to nothing. Hmm, what had changed in recent weeks? I uninstalled Facebook Messenger and all is well again.
