@Meta the whole problem with FB Messenger Ads is it destroys the point of using it. People abandoned email because it became 99% spam (all noise, little signal). Messenger was 100% friends. Adding Ads to Messenger (or WhatsApp) just makes it into another spam-filled email app.

@peripateticmeg Never. Not if I can help it. I have my roommate chat on fb messenger so it isn’t a constant influx. Why do group text chains even exist?!? It’s an instant recipe for anxiety and irritation and friendship-ending!

I've had people yell and swear at me when I've asked why, for example, their adult daughter might only want to talk to them via FB Messenger when they live down the road, and why they would ask for financial help in the form of cryptocurrency instead of a bank transfer.

Just updated my @Facebook messenger and now I can't click on friends names to message them. Great. Ever since @Google upgraded my #pixel 5 to Android 12 I've had nothing but issues. Wasn't like this in previous versions.
