@MrFadedGlory @0liviajulianna Facebook Messenger is not WhatsApp. They are very different. WhatsApp is a direct connection between devices. Facebook Messenger has a service as an intermediary. Your messages go to a server where you access them

@MerriweatherSun @crookita @0liviajulianna I can confirm I lose the ability to make calls or send texts so I often hop on fb messenger to contact people. And I'm not like in the mountains just a ****** spot for service.

@Nicolascole77 @neerajarora unfortunately, it's not that straightforward. fb messenger isn't encrypted like whatsapp is, and that's why it happened. it's not like the encryption was fake or inadequate as the post makes it seem. just trying to set things straight, but yeah they gotta fix this.

@Moto760 @Android @Apple If most used FB messenger or a 3rd party app in the US for those situations instead of sticking to the default messages app this wouldn't have been a problem in the first place since they could use the same third-party app to chat with the 40% Android users in the US. That's huge

@motorolaUK Hi - I have an Edge 20 Pro thats works great apart from Whatsapp - if someone rings me the phone does not always ring - it might start ringing after say 10 secs or not at all. Sometimes it rings as expected. I don;t get this issue with facebook messenger.

@farmerfrau @Eurostar Hi. I know your pain. Hopefully this will help. I tried using the contact forms (multiple times) and twitter (tweets and DMs) all with no success. However I did finally get to talk to someone via the Facebook Messenger app and they sorted my problems for me.

@AndroidEducator @sondesix The problem with those is they all require the user to go out of their way to download and set them up. Most people in the US can’t be bothered to do this. Only reason FB messenger is so popular is because FB is so widely used. Even with all the privacy issues.
