@KatieDaviscourt Do not use FB Messenger. Facebook has access to messages you send there. Use a E2E encrypted service like Signal, Whatsapp, Telegram (with encryption enabled), etc.

@sdho @mikesonn I guess I've never had an issue with not having iMessage; not sure if that's a reflection of people communicating me through other apps (Signal, Slack, FB Messenger) or that I don't really communicate to people with iDevices much.

@AtlanticBBInc Well, we had this same conversation a week ago when I needed a transfer of service so I message thru fb messenger like you advised me to, set everything up for today to get transferred only to find out that it was only scheduled to be a service call for tech.

@DuckDuckGo @mshelton I love Signal. I dropped Facebook Messenger and I'm not going back. My one issue with Signal is that I can't send photos in batches, only one by one. I wish they'd update that issue.

@whitequark there was that kind of brief period in the late 2000's where you could login to facebook messenger, google chat etc via XMPP. Even up to 2015 I was logging in to Lync/Skype for Business with pidgin which worked well for chat

Important, Please Read: If you have a kink Instagram account, make sure that it is not linked to the new "Account Center" that was just added by facebook messenger. It linked to my kink account by default and am not sure who noticed before I fixed the problem. GOOD LUCK! :(

@AlecMuffett @alexstamos The single thing I can think of that is of relevance is the committing encryption scheme used in Facebook messenger, where the recipient can flag a message and relay the committed key, proving the ciphertext sent over the service held the reported content.

@myapfelworld I've been trying to get it to work for months now. Doesn't Beepify do Telegram and FB Messenger as the two chat services it will connect to? I'd double check but I can't launch it now and I don't see it on their site, "Help Center" isn't actually a link either.

If I wasn’t a bad enough friend for forgetting to reply before COVID I’ve just looked in my Facebook messenger and saw a message unopened from 4 days ago and now I feel like it’s rude to reply but message notifications just overwhelm me and I just put my phone down instead 🙃
