@IBKR OK, after about 90 minutes on hold I finally got through to someone to reset the login attempts. The reset attempt consisted of me giving my name and username, then a tap on the phone notification. Not convinced that forcing me to make that phone call resulted in better security.

@IBKR 8 hours of downtime and counting. Even Robinhood managed to sort out their issues today and came back online after 30 minutes of downtime. What on earth is taking so long? Why are there no updates?

@RTNRTN @IBKR I got locked out of my account for too many "failed log in attempts" (but I can still somehow log in through mobile with no issue)... was told by rep on chat i need to call them to have acct reset. they should disable this feature to cut down on call volume
