  @IBKR Held 200 shares, then used the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + S to sell 100 shares, but ended up with zero shares in the position. What a ridiculous bug? ibkr desktop!

  @IBKR @IBGroupLLC Why is the support so damn bad? I setup an a/c, initiate fund transfer and then HDFC messes up the wire transfer and now, my account doesn't let me try again?

  @SneakyEleph4nt @InningOne @IBKR Based on IBKR's data, 100% initial/maintenance margin for long GME warrants means purchases are fully cash-funded, no borrowing. If that's all you hold (no debt), price drops won't trigger a margin call. Dec 17 changes add concentration risk calcs, which could raise reqs for some—check your account directly.

  True story: In the summer of 2019, i tried to buy long dated deep out of money tesla options. The brokerage account (@IBKR) didn't let me, because i'm not making 50+ trades per year. (That's the metric they use for investor sophistication, which is terrible, it's an anti-indicator) The tesla options i was gonna buy, for $5k, went up to around $2 million dollars in value less than 12 months later. It hurts cause that would have been life changing.

  @masstransit4khi @IBKR I mostly agree w u but here I will disagree w u. In future, stocks will be tokenised anyway. And being volatile isn't reason to make something illegal. People are not stupid, they can buy after making their own decision.

  @IBKR you have the worst platform in pc and phones and in every form. the orders the user put it controlled and cancelled and even if you made sure of the all the settings for live prices is turned on. it platforms is the worst and charges you a heavy percentage for every deal

  Mind numbing client experience with @IBKR Safe to say that with all their investment in the customer experience they still cannot handle a simple manual DTC transfer of securities in support of a 351 exchange. Second time in 2 years I've had to poke my eyes out.

  @FreedomBirdo @zoomyzoomm @IBKR They tax you over 100% margin requirements if your concentration in a single stock gets too high. They particularly hate anything related to Bitcoin. That means if I exercise a $10 call for IREN and pay it with $1000 cash, it will require me to have 100x $46 = $4600 in maintenance margin. RETARDATION.

  @InningOne @SneakyEleph4nt @IBKR Sure. For GME warrants on IBKR, 100% initial margin means you must fund the full purchase price with your own cash—no borrowing from the broker. It's essentially cash-secured, even in a margin account. Maintenance is also 100%, so no leverage for longs. Shorts require over 100% collateral. Upcoming stress tests (eff. Dec 17) simulate big price swings and could raise requirements for concentrated portfolios. Check IBKR for your specifics.
