So microsoft bought skype, made it terrible and unpopular, and now they're going to buy discord? 🤔I wonder what's going to happen to discord in a couple of years if that happens.

@Slasher Yuck. The problem with Microsoft buying software is that they don’t understand that discord or Skype is a product and they treat everything they buy as a feature of windows instead of a true product and they ruin it.

IDK why everyone is talking about Skype again but thinking back on it feels like such a mix of dread and nostalgia, whenever stuff went down on skype it was always Extremely Wild

@hEnereyG Ugh. I remember when they acquired Skype. It went from a fun way to talk to people to a giant pain in the *** I had to uninstall. I don’t even use Discord at the moment and I think this is terrible news.

@IGN The whole reason I GOT Discord was because Microsoft turned Skype into a broken, unstable, resource-draining mess. PLEASE, if it's true, don't repeat history.

OH and Discord chat themes. Just remembered that from Skype. You see how they did with Skype. If Microsoft acquires Discord I feel like the goodness of the service is done for.

@titan_frosty @Slasher You should be able to wait because Microsoft's history is of running Skype into the ground. Also trickle down economics is a lie.

@G27Status They already have Skype. Why don't they use that 10 billion dollars to fix their existing apps?
