    TikTok ownership and server locations are details. Data can be moved easily. The real problem is that their servers (like too many others) contain data that should never leave the privacy of our phones and computers. We need legislation to limit harvesting of our private data.

    Also who the hell is so thick to have TikTok installed on a gov device anyway? Or Instagram? Or Facebook? Or Twitter? All of these apps collect sensitive data that is stored and sold for malign purposes but we apparently have no issue with US companies doing it?

    I've watch videos of the Tiktok Hearing in US Congress on TikTok itself. TikTok Hearing revealed that Congress is the problem. Sad life.
