    @thecjpearson The problem with TikTok is not the information people are freely sharing on it but the app scrapes any data it has access to and stores it on TikTok servers in China where the Chinese government has full access to all the data.

    The possible TikTok ban has nothing to do with American safety. There are much bigger problems with American safety. This ban gets bipartisan support because they agree that having no control over information is a problem for them. Limiting American voices is their priority.

    @jessicaaa55321 @LeeHurstComic yes the NHS tried to claim they were the heroes during Covid but ask the rest of us and it was people working in supermarkets, collecting our bins etc etc who kept the country running - I didn't see any of the them tiktok dancing

    I’m so lost with questioning the American Congress is giving the TikTok CEO. Your citizens search for weird things, then TikTok problem meh? Like don’t ya’ll know how to fact check instead of taking info wholesale? Lost.

    Don't get me wrong, tiktok has major data privacy issues. But so do facebook and twitter. The answer is general data privacy laws, not starting a generational war.

    TikTok’s fundamental issue is that U.S. lawmakers are skeptical that its current CEO, Shou Chew, is the company’s ultimate authority. There is nothing he can say or commit to that will mollify this Congress.

    @shybabybun To be fair, I can understand the cyber security issues in regards to tiktok. But I feel it is overblown. Most social media sites retain excessive information.

    The U.S. division of #TikTok needs to be spun off and sold, shuttered for a full internal audit, then relaunched. It's a security issue, and a non-partisan one. @WhiteHouse
