Maybe it's just me, but the DCV seems like an extremely lazy solution to a problem that feels like it shouldn't exist. Game dev is hard yes, but there are plenty of other examples (Warframe, and WoW to name a few) that have 5x more content than destiny but have smaller sizes.

D2 has a massive traversal problem. Classes have a similar mobility envelope, many levels are spent in a linear slog from A to B, and there’s nothing to really trivialize that. Warframe base mobility handles like a basic shooter but once you figure out advanced mechanics,

@DFire13 @AutomaticZen The main difference is Warframe doesn’t vault content it’s players literally paid for. That’s the only real issue here that I can see. I’ve gotten use to it and understand why, but that part feels bad and looks insane from the outside looking in.

@Oldest_Rookie Basically everyone is acting like D2 is the only live service game that removes content or has removed content, Warframe specifically removed a big chunk of content from the game back in the day and removed Raids

@TheTrueVanguard maybe Destiny should tone down on the filters and VFX on screen and save space to keep the actual campaign in game. Warframe has more locations and still doesn’t have this issue. They’re leaning into the FOMO season pass model to get more money. Its been blatant ever since launch

@RebelDustyPinky The only drama that existed was whether Destiney 2 was better than Warframe. Obviously we know Warframe is better so there were no problems. ;)

@Jukantos It might not be a problem for Warframe specifically, they have their own other issues, but it is for Destiny 2 and I bet that if the solution was as easy as to compress the files further, I'm convinced Bungie would've tried that by now.

@SugarfreeJake @epzi10n Apparently people have said FF14 and Warframe which are the closest and also insanely different games have had similar things happen. Wether you agree or not Bungie stated big content causes issues and they’re actively working on that but it’s just not possible atm to hold.

@90sdumpsterfire @TAINTEDSAVIOURS @sealtoast The problem here with a sunk cost fallacy is that in other games the thing you've sunk that cost into is still there. In warframe if I spend a week trying to get a new frame that frame doesn't disappear in 6 months.
