@JimSterling does warframe fits into this ? game improved but it requires a lot of time to play and get stuff. They fixed lot of issues but the grind is a mess , it requires time , spreadsheets , wiki , etc

@BungieHelp With all these issues im no longer playing Destiny. Warframe is 10 years old yet you can take a 2 year break and lose NOTHING. Thought Bungie was the AAA experience but hell no, not worth it

@WorkAsIntended @Hyper_Falcon @headassbtw Worse is they could make tons money and use the FtP/Live service model if they’d just make a working and complete Halo game at launch and look at less scummier examples like Warframe. We haven’t had a finished at launch Halo game since 2012.

Now the industry's somehow surprised that the same is happening to live service games. They saw the success of Fortnite's Battle Pass, and said, "Hey, that makes a lot of money, let's do that!" A handful of successes: Destiny, Genshin, Warframe, Sea of Thieves, Rocket League.

@mw2mh @PlayWarframe Hell Yes! Enemies just do a small damage and die easily with some nuke builds. Every mechanic is broken in this game, even jump, but if they balance the game, it will no longer be Warframe lol

@mrpyo1 I think its not really fair to zoom in on every live service game that fail. There tons and tons that are successful, plus a live service game can literally man everything. Gran turismo, Destiny, warframe, MLB, FF14, sea of thieves are all different kind of live service games 1/2

@nyameowxd @JimSterling Warframe is definitely a live service f2p game that's a huge time sink, but it ain't a cynical cash grab. Most games on that list aren't even a year old. Warframe started in 2013, years before the live service trend kicked into high gear by greedy publishers. (1/2)

@J_V_Smooth I just assume there's not enough players or revenue to keep lots of these free to play live service games alive when they don't have the playerbase and funding of Halo, Destiny, Warframe, The Division.

Bit of a hot take: GAAS games CAN work. Look at Warframe, Destiny, FFXIV, etc. The problem with most of these companies doing them is that they don't ever think beyond 2 years at least, which is why we're seeing SO many getting shut down soon.
