@spirit_avenging @PrimeVideo I have the right to not see something because the misleading pr. They say it's Tolkien's vision and they don't even have the rights of the books only the appendixes. They pick the least detailed era and expands over it. It's derivated work. They even ghosted Peter Jackson.

@rationalcypher @mattsole @PrimeVideo Most of it isn’t even adjacent to the next line. They are in different scenes. Like here. I’ve heard the same line of dialogue followed by a completely different one at least three times. That’s how trailers work.

@OrangeHat2185 @PrimeVideo I have this opinion that work is more of a marketing strategy than a movie or TV making mindset. I think that studios know they have bad scripts and think they can get minorities of any kind to watch. We just want good storytelling like anyone else and hate this **** too.

@zorin1101 @PrimeVideo No, I have seen it in movies as well. LotR is NEVER supposed to be modernized. It is timeless for a reason. And detailed all the way through. Tolkien knew his work couldn't be adapted faithfully, but if he was alive for this, He would tell them flat out that the project is dead.

All we get now is awful fan fiction which misrepresents the far better works they've decided to alter beyond recognition. The originals are loved for reasons current writers can't/won't grok. It's sad that Netflix made a better show with like a quarter of the budget, better channeling and sadly better story. (Shadow and Bone) I truly hope that season 2 gets back on track or it will be over
