How do you spend four seasons building a story and carefully developing characters, only for the fifth season to suddenly feel like it belongs to a completely different series? The writing took such a bizarre turn, and the characters changed so drastically that it honestly felt disconnected from everything the show had been building since 2019. Nothing about the final season felt true to the story or the characters we had invested in for years. And Homelander… you created one of the most powerful, complex, and psychologically fascinating characters on television, only to give him an ending like that? I refuse to believe nobody on the production team realized something was seriously wrong while making this season. The finale genuinely felt like another Game of Thrones situation all over again a once great series collapsing under terrible writing decisions at the end. I honestly hope the people responsible for approving the writing and direction of season five stay far away from future movies and TV shows, because the level of inconsistency, weak storytelling, and complete lack of logic in that final season was incredibly disappointing.

I only stuck with it (fast‑forwarded most of it) because I liked Steven’s side story and the Moms arc. Everything else was just a parade of terrible acting, unlikable characters, and cringeworthy plotlines.

But Season 2 was a very clear dip in quality (an almost universal observation), did not bother with anything beyond that point. I've heard of things here and there, but they killed my interest early and none of what's happened since sounds like it's worth seeing. Word across the Internet is that it got really, really bad. I can't confirm, but I'm not watching to find out. Don't care to.
