@VanKeeks @BlizzardCS (2) This game is not just a remaster. The networking aspect of it had to be redone. There was never a global battle net 20 years ago and no such authentication service. The actual game servers were p2p 20 years ago, but no longer.

@BlizzardCS Personally i think they are taking the game down to try some patch before they put them live. As the games slowness and lag when loading new area's screams incomplete or not optimized game. Either that or blizzard are imcompetent.

@VanKeeks @BlizzardCS (3) My best guess is that they did not anticipate the load of people doing 2 minute farming runs through a specific part of an act, then exiting and rejoining. Every time you exit = reauthenticate with the auth service. Auth service may not be as lightweight as it needs to be.

@NerdZtuff_Inc @BlizzardCS My point is WHY do you need to know the exact issue. It's down. Knowing why is irrelevant. It's down. They are stating its something to do with their Authentication Server. Maybe it was a bad Windows update, maybe it's a failed NIC. Who knows.

@VanKeeks @BlizzardCS (1) I don't work for blizzard, but I'm a software eng. They have stated it's an issue with their authentication servers. Every time you boot up the game or exit a run to start a new one, you re-authenticate with their auth service.
