However, the use of unauthorized satellite phones without the required permission is prohibited under Indian regulations. BSNL provides authorized Global Satellite Phone Services (GSPS) to eligible customer as per Department of telecommunications (DoT) guidelines and applicable verification procedures.     @IndianTechGuide Regular civilian cannot legally buy this device without government clearance. This hardware connects directly to satellites to keep military and disaster teams online when cell towers collapse. BSNL isn't trying to sell you a smartphone because they are busy locking down massive institutional contracts, Stop comparing a highly regulated survival tool to whatever Apple is selling this week

    @TRAI @BSNLCorporate Again bsnl is the worst network WRT. performance. No coverage in our area for the past 13 yrs. Chennai 600126, Mappedu area. Even in second floor, bsnl is making us to come out and speak.

    @ZeeNews BSNL should first adopt 5G for its network. They are not. Leave alone 6G which is going to be launched. Satellite phones are not even a distant dream for the entire population. Just good mobile network is enough.
