Cloudflare Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • ErrataRob Robᵉʳᵗ Graham (@ErrataRob) reported

@toojoe @UnknownEnby As CloudFlare explains, it's got multiple parts to its business. One is more like a CDN hosting content. The other is a security service akin to ISPs. The law may not make such distinctions, however.

  • nklasio Niklas working on @getcookinn (@nklasio) reported

@Piipperi800 @Coronux Don’t get me wrong I am really don’t have to much information about all that stuff but I kinda get the feeling that they are trying at the wrong spot, like they should be able to force them to be taken down by law no? But instead they just cancelling cloudflare

  • Brandon__Hu Brandon Hu (@Brandon__Hu) reported

@ewatomiabara I shorted cloudflare. This **** is going to $0 They have never made a profit

  • blankbyte TopBuffer DDoS Protection (@blankbyte) reported

So crying to cloudflare won’t help unfortunately

  • blankbyte TopBuffer DDoS Protection (@blankbyte) reported

@DanielMicay Bro. Cloudflare is a CDN service. NOT A HOSTING SERVICE CLOUDFLARE DOES NOT HOST KIWI FARMS. They provide ddos protection for it.

  • mouthoftyam tyam (@mouthoftyam) reported

@Technicalleigh @Patreon Patreon had its run-in with cloudflare a few years ago when a content scraping site that was also on cloudflare was given protection while stealing paywalled content. Patreon asked cloudflare for help and cloudflare told Patreon to pound sand. AFAIK that situation is unresolved.

  • sinisterporpois sinisterporpois is now 25% more sinister (@sinisterporpois) reported

I think there are a lot of miunderstandings about what is happening between Cloudflare and Kiwifarms coming from people who don't understand the concept of a content delivery network.

  • poiThePoi Poi will be in SF from 19 August to 24 August 2022 (@poiThePoi) reported

@isepick99 @GossiTheDog @eastdakota Even if you're upstream of anti-trans activism and don't care, the response has been slightly incoherent enough that it's starting to become a business problem. Also, Cloudflare loses money so if they lose even more money, welp.

  • ewatomiabara ewa (@ewatomiabara) reported

so cloudflare stocks are going down. i feel like people are going to start buying cloudflare stocks while it just goes down due to keffals incident until one day they cave in and suddenly it goes up immensely

  • johnsel92 John Simons (@johnsel92) reported

@GossiTheDog I wonder what would happen if you would actually register at kiwifarms and start posting cloudflare's greatest hits' personal details on there en masse. Don't though, that is very illegal and I don't support it! But you have to wonder....

  • mouthoftyam tyam (@mouthoftyam) reported

@Technicalleigh @Patreon I don't disagree, but if they didn't leave over "hey, a website you provide service to is undermining our entire *waves hand* thing here, fix it" then it's unlikely they'll leave over this, even if Cloudflare's utility to the web is nebulous at best and actively harmful at worst.

  • adrusi Autumn Russell 🔍🗺️🌍 (@adrusi) reported

@BootsPlatypus I don't have a problem w replies, that one just wasn't very good. It's absurd bc no one is talking about the sense of "support" that just means cloudflare provides kiwi farms a service they offer to everyone for free and because no one is going to publicly approve of kiwi farms

  • RSWestmoreland Richard Westmoreland  (@RSWestmoreland) reported

@hacks4pancakes @Foone I was really nervous about Linode being acquired by Akamai recently but now I'm super supportive because Akamai is going to win a lot of Cloudflare's churn - they're going to take over the spotlight and we're going to help them do it. I hope they are prepared

  • b_mcnett Brian McNett (@b_mcnett) reported from East Bremerton, Washington

Cloudflare provides no service unavailable elsewhere from people who actually care about preventing abuse. Ditch them at no real loss.

  • AudreyGlyph Audrey! (@AudreyGlyph) reported

@IIanaRemikee @doewrath @business if a firefighter makes that decision and their decision is the wrong one, someone literally dies. if cloudflare makes that decision and their decision is wrong, a ******* website goes down. but if they're right? they save lives! but they're cowards and won't take a stance.

  • Autistic_Ace Autistic Asexual (@Autistic_Ace) reported

@daphnehk @Cloudflare @eastdakota Given that "nuance" damn near always means "obscuring the situation to make the abhorrent seem defensible"... yes, it is all very nuanced

  • Maximum_Chess MaximumChess (@Maximum_Chess) reported

@angelWIP1 Cloudflare is listed as the host server. Section 230 may very well not apply. They have much bigger problems howver. $net is a dead company walking.

  • ConsultOrlovsky Alexander Orlovsky ⚖ 📐🇩🇪 🇺🇦 🪖 ⚔ 💉💉💉🚀🛰🕵 (@ConsultOrlovsky) reported

Stopping the bad guys with Cloudflare: 554 malicious requests blocked or challenged in the last month #cloudflare i say oh wow, like for real we dont have any valuable data on our presentation site , still ruskis try to hack it.

  • b_mcnett Brian McNett (@b_mcnett) reported from East Bremerton, Washington

I wrote a longish thread about Cloudflare which im simply not going to post. I have opinions, but I’ve been out of the network security business for a decade. I no longer need to care about nuance.

  • IZUWI3 IZUWI (@IZUWI3) reported

As much as I support her I’m pretty sure keffals doesn’t fully understand how cloudflare works (regarding: computer sciences, economics, etc.)

  • Philoviridae Phil O'Viridae (@Philoviridae) reported

without any awareness at all the number of eth/btc musk stans demanding that I stop saying cloudflare is losing value due to bad optics because the portfolio value blah blah blah. money is not a good enough reason to justify hate and bigotry bitcoin bro. Go **** yourselves.

  • Cbcbieb CB (@Cbcbieb) reported

@PBsMom19 @away777_throw @Cloudflare They won’t take any action. They talk a big game about their action blah blah blah. Their chance to make a real statement and nothing. The real issue is nobody else will take the site.

  • The_Doddler Doddler (@The_Doddler) reported

@Foxhack @Helianthella @sean_a_cassidy A big issue is you can't easily identify the owners or operators of anyone operating behind cloudflare, it's effectively used as an anonymizing service for servers.

  • dstufft Donald Stufft (@dstufft) reported

Likewise, PyPI's been on Fastly for.. 10? years now and they've never blinked as we scaled from GBs of traffic a month to now nearing 50PB. Hard to imagine how we'd do it without their support. Could not recommend them more if you're trying to ditch Cloudflare.

  • KarenOnBelay Karen (@KarenOnBelay) reported

@ItsRunescape @GlaucaDigital @cloudflare Have you confused yourself with the Fire Department? You're a private company, not a public service, and you're not out there saving lives. You should be held responsible for the people you choose to do business with. You are enabling them to end people's lives.

  • AudreyGlyph Audrey! (@AudreyGlyph) reported

@IIanaRemikee @doewrath @business this analogy is bullshit for cloudflare because it implies that they're making judgments on people's life and death, like firefighters would be. no one's house is on fire, no one is going to die if kiwifarms goes down, but people WILL die if it remains up.

  • WasVQ9 VQ9 (@WasVQ9) reported

@futyulofazek @vulonkaaz @GoodReddit I dont particularly want to get involved. But that is bs. Their mitigation capacity is formidable. Fyi, unlike social media companies, CloudFlare provide a service, and like the electricity company they shouldn't have the right to enact justice, because that is truly dystopian.

  • mashcore4mums fooly (@mashcore4mums) reported

@cpp999x @audrocur @viperwave My point is, Cloudflare dropping KiwiFarms doesn't take the site down, they wouldn't even have to change hosts, it literally just makes it slightly easier to DDOS.

  • b_mcnett Brian McNett (@b_mcnett) reported from East Bremerton, Washington

Cloudflare’s policy statement is an announcement that they are and intend to continue being a bad actor. Their claim that they operate at a remove from their customers because they’re not hosting them is bullshit.

  • hollincarris Collin Harris 🔜 ⚰ (@hollincarris) reported

god is it nice to finally see cloudflare get publically dragged. **** that company and **** the people who founded it.
