Google Nest Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • marcusdiddle Marcus ****** (@marcusdiddle) reported

@googlenesthelp Cameras were bought used as part of an estate sale a few months ago. They all have audio static. I have 5 other non-IQ Nest cameras that do not have the same issue. So it's either an issue with the IQ Indoor cams themselves or they're not getting clean power due to faulty cables.

  • LJHeronHBFS NRG God 💥, LJ Heron (@LJHeronHBFS) reported from Carlton on Trent, England

Recently bought a new boiler from @WeAreBoxt, choosing the @GoogleNest thermostat for it. The service from Boxt was great 👍🏾 The service from Google, regarding their dodgy thermostat, not so much. Beginning to regret the so-called smart option. More trouble than it is worth.

  • ColRoeshambo Mike C. (@ColRoeshambo) reported

@googlenesthelp I think I have a bad base on my 2nd Gen Stat on my 2nd floor. I have a separate thermostat on each floor. I swapped faces on the two floors and the issue stayed with the base. I swapped bases and the problem followed the base. Any additional steps you recommend?

  • BFilyk Blair Filyk (@BFilyk) reported

@googlenesthelp I have reset the device and discussed the issue with the help desk at the internet provider - this issue started a few weeks ago

  • SocketToEm Socket to ‘em (@SocketToEm) reported

@googlenesthelp Thanks. The new one fired the boiler up last night for no reason - it’s not programmed and set to 8 degrees and now shows H75 Do you think OT is the problem with the two units? I know so engineers won’t use OT as that say it’s unreliable.

  • lano78 lano78 (@lano78) reported

@googlenesthelp No, it's a solid white light. No "none" english characters in name or password. It's been sorted now, factory reset solved the problem. Thanks for the help.

  • ctsundmark Chris Sundmark (@ctsundmark) reported

@googlenesthelp wifi will not connect. Been troubleshooting for hours. Tried everything. Please help!

  • TheAmusan TheAmusan (@TheAmusan) reported

@googlenesthelp Hi my thermostat is showing a W5 error. I’ve rebooted and I followed all the instructions on the support page is there anything else I should do?

  • RyanNegri Ryan Negri (@RyanNegri) reported

@jstrauss @googlenest I’ve got 6 myself and slowly switching over. Had the thermostats too, but I moved into some place that had smart ones already. Nest app seems to log me out every 48 hours too! It’s terrible.

  • NvdGoorbergh Nick vd Goorbergh (@NvdGoorbergh) reported

@googlenesthelp Hmm. Now they are all three offline.

  • eTron eTron (@eTron) reported

@madebygoogle @googlenesthelp just paid an electrician to come & figure out why my Google Doorbell (wired) is constantly draining even wired. Cost me $125 + $20 transformer + $179 for a second Google Doorbell. Not the issue. Still drains. Shows infinite / plugged in in Home app.

  • Jamesdbuzzard James D. Buzzard (@Jamesdbuzzard) reported

@googlenesthelp No help needed. Setup is really simple and I love the nest service so far. Just wish I could get more camera options at different prices. I like the ones you have but would live a $35-$60 wired option as well.

  • makbadat Makaveli (@makbadat) reported

@googlenesthelp My thermostat has suddenly stopped connecting to the Wi-Fi. Performed reset on both router and on Nest thermostat. Received a replacement but still the same issue. Apparently a common problem. Replacement unit does not have Nest logo. refurbed? Please advise

  • BFilyk Blair Filyk (@BFilyk) reported

@googlenesthelp my nest thermostat won’t identify or connect to wifi. I understand this may be a device issue. My internet provider has confirmed our system is working, and all other devices including our other Nest products can connect

  • dustanddisquiet matt (@dustanddisquiet) reported from Manchester, Virginia

@googlenesthelp Yes I am. Thank you for the reply. I am experiencing delays in my Nest notifications. After I updated my router (same channels as before) I started experiencing delayed notifications. I have reset the Connect which didn’t help.

  • EcoStu2050 Stu Powell 🌎 (@EcoStu2050) reported

@jstrauss @googlenest I've learned my lesson to not buy Google Hardware. Nothing happened, but my camera randomly stopped working. It said it was a Wifi connection issue (it wasn't). I finally figured out how to do a hard reset (which requires taking your doorbell off).

  • sliceBangPOW CK Brown (@sliceBangPOW) reported

@googlenesthelp Yes. Every time I say a command, it responds that there was a glitch and to try again. My internet is working fine and I've tried resetting the device.

  • regowens Reggie Owens (@regowens) reported

@googlenesthelp I have spent SEVERAL hours with your team troubleshooting this issue. Is there a solution for this problem? I was told by your team that this is a known issue. I have no other issues when issuing voice commands using Google Assistant for my Google Home.

  • SmokinStoole Jersey J’s Trainer (@SmokinStoole) reported

@googlenesthelp My device is over a year old, sounds like trash now?

  • MichaelIshri Michael Ishri (@MichaelIshri) reported

@googlenesthelp Are your services down? I wasn't able to do a speed test on the router or the mesh and whenever I go to set up a port forwarding rule, it just times out. Have force closed the app and restarted. This is why we need local management of Nest mesh devices.

  • jsg2021 Jonathan Grimes (@jsg2021) reported

Feature idea for @googlenest thermostats… provide logs. Mine notified me of an issue… now that I’ve addressed it, I want to have a better way to see if it’s totally fixed… than just waiting for the next notification warning or watching the thing explicitly.

  • makbadat Makaveli (@makbadat) reported

@googlenesthelp Original Thermostat had a W5 error. Replacement thermostat was received today and could not find any SSIDs. Tried manually adding SSID but does not find it. Can’t get past heatlink setup.

  • danwatling Dan Watling (@danwatling) reported

How does one reboot their Nest doorbell? It's offline and my Wifi is just fine. @googlenesthelp #nerdproblems

  • lightbody Lightbody (@lightbody) reported

@googlenesthelp Thanks. It's still not working. Still says disconnected ever since Friday morning. Tried reinstalling the app.

  • ColRoeshambo Mike C. (@ColRoeshambo) reported

@googlenesthelp Thanks! I am in the US. From what I can see on the thermostat, it looks like it is heating. Unfortunately, nothing comes on. I can run the fan and cooling without any issue. It is just the heat.

  • MaryamMonadi Maryam.Monadi (@MaryamMonadi) reported

@googlenesthelp Hi, I just installed a new google nest camera & having this exact issue. Do I need to do something specific to resolve the delay?

  • olddeadtaylor leticia (@olddeadtaylor) reported

@googlenesthelp It gave me the clean version tho 😭 I want to hear her saying **** the patriarchy sis

  • jp_sox 🚛 Eastbound and Down🚛 (@jp_sox) reported

@googlenesthelp The model in the technical info says it's a Topaz-2.7. Trying to change the pathlight brightness and encountered the same issue with changing the pathlight to "Always On." Just doesn't make sense to have up to 24 hr delay to adj settings, or to climb a ladder to make them faster.

  • sadflump Sarah S (@sadflump) reported

@googlenesthelp Still the worst company in the world. I know the Arbitration Agreement excludes class action lawsuits, but surely that is open to challenge? The time I have sunk into this piece of junk is unreal.

  • NvdGoorbergh Nick vd Goorbergh (@NvdGoorbergh) reported

@googlenesthelp Hmm. I will try. I wanted to use the one which I got back online as support device but this ring shows orange and says that the device is offline. So I guess I will have to use the one that was online the whole time.
