Google Nest Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • BumblingIdiot Rebooting (@BumblingIdiot) reported

@googlenesthelp been trying to get help since I got it last year . this is the first time anyone has responded.

  • daviegonzalez Diggariffic (@daviegonzalez) reported from Milwaukee, Wisconsin

@googlenest what is the point of having “smart” products when you don’t stand behind them. The worst part is for 2 weeks I have been getting the run around. Just replace the defective product.refund the money you were so quick to collect.

  • rusty0101 Rusty - "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" (@rusty0101) reported

@DaveSchmarder @googlenesthelp @WyzeCam At a guess, there was an API update on one side or the other that caused a problem that they fixed later in the day. Might have simply been that both agreed to the change, but someone was behind the other in implementing.

  • BFilyk Blair Filyk (@BFilyk) reported

@googlenesthelp my nest thermostat won’t identify or connect to wifi. I understand this may be a device issue. My internet provider has confirmed our system is working, and all other devices including our other Nest products can connect

  • BFilyk Blair Filyk (@BFilyk) reported

@googlenesthelp I have reset the device and discussed the issue with the help desk at the internet provider - this issue started a few weeks ago

  • Patty_Lyons Patty (Needs WAY more coffee) Lyons (@Patty_Lyons) reported

Day 13 since the @googlenesthelp update, day 13 of my heat getting turned off . . . this time with a house full of guests walking around our house. FIX IT.

  • NvdGoorbergh Nick vd Goorbergh (@NvdGoorbergh) reported

@googlenesthelp Hmm. I will try. I wanted to use the one which I got back online as support device but this ring shows orange and says that the device is offline. So I guess I will have to use the one that was online the whole time.

  • miggi Miggi from Figgi (@miggi) reported

@DMons_ @googlenesthelp Yeah, the device doesn’t show as connecting to the wifi network though. I’d kill for just manual settings. Wizards with no way to manually configure is terrible UX.

  • NvdGoorbergh Nick vd Goorbergh (@NvdGoorbergh) reported

@googlenesthelp when I came home 2 of my 3 protects where suddenly offline. I was able to get 1 back online but the second one will not connect annymore. What happend and how do fix this? And why wasnt I notified that the protects where offline?

  • regowens Reggie Owens (@regowens) reported

@googlenesthelp I have spent SEVERAL hours with your team troubleshooting this issue. Is there a solution for this problem? I was told by your team that this is a known issue. I have no other issues when issuing voice commands using Google Assistant for my Google Home.

  • Saphod Marco Luthe (@Saphod) reported

@googlenesthelp BTW: This issue applies to all devices and seems app-related. Please fix. Thanks!

  • jesmy 🌬🌸☔gingerbear🍀💜⁷ (@jesmy) reported

@googlenesthelp Still not working. If I could, I would return both of these devices. They rarely work as they are supposed to. I wasted $100 for two useless pieces of plastic.

  • LiquidBalloon RisingToTheTop (@LiquidBalloon) reported

@googlenesthelp @madebygoogle I am cold. 20 degrees outside/ similar inside my house. Nest thermostat STILL not working. Gone through troubleshoot, spent $$$ on techs and still issues. Chemo patient in the house. I need this fixed now. Case ID: 1-0073000032060. @bbb_us defect

  • rusty0101 Rusty - "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" (@rusty0101) reported

@googlenesthelp No, within eight hours of first discovering the issue, it was back to normal operations. Mostly it was an inconvenience for a few hours, but not enough information at the time to know if I was looking at a new "normal" state.

  • TheAmusan TheAmusan (@TheAmusan) reported

@googlenesthelp Hi my thermostat is showing a W5 error. I’ve rebooted and I followed all the instructions on the support page is there anything else I should do?

  • MichaelIshri Michael Ishri (@MichaelIshri) reported

@googlenesthelp Are your services down? I wasn't able to do a speed test on the router or the mesh and whenever I go to set up a port forwarding rule, it just times out. Have force closed the app and restarted. This is why we need local management of Nest mesh devices.

  • BDB1971 Bryce Brown Artist (@BDB1971) reported

@googlenesthelp No changes that I'm aware of... there's the possibility it could be a weird connection issue. My device is the puck sort. It's a clear 4 metres from the extender with a good signal to all devices.

  • jp_sox 🚛 Eastbound and Down🚛 (@jp_sox) reported

@googlenesthelp The model in the technical info says it's a Topaz-2.7. Trying to change the pathlight brightness and encountered the same issue with changing the pathlight to "Always On." Just doesn't make sense to have up to 24 hr delay to adj settings, or to climb a ladder to make them faster.

  • RogerPauley2 Roger (@RogerPauley2) reported

@googlenesthelp Help Google Nest support - my new 3rd generation Nest thermostat dropped the WiFi connection. I have restarted, reset, rebooted everything in the house and no luck. All apps are up to date. Please advise. WiFi network not recognized in app or thermostat

  • GilbertMath David Gilbert (@GilbertMath) reported

@googlenesthelp I don't think so. It has started having issues periodically where it will get very digitally scrambled. But if i unplug and plug back in it and to fix it for another week or so. The issue I mention here seems to be an F1TV problem.

  • ctsundmark Chris Sundmark (@ctsundmark) reported

@googlenesthelp wifi will not connect. Been troubleshooting for hours. Tried everything. Please help!

  • MaryamMonadi Maryam.Monadi (@MaryamMonadi) reported

@googlenesthelp Hi, I just installed a new google nest camera & having this exact issue. Do I need to do something specific to resolve the delay?

  • aaron_kravitz Aaron Kravitz (@aaron_kravitz) reported

@googlenesthelp No error messages, just that it went offline. Have 4 Nest 3rd gen thermostats, 7 nest protects, several speakers and a nest hello. All of those were still online.

  • KateMartino Kate Martino (@KateMartino) reported

@googlenesthelp @googlenest two weeks now and still no answer on when we will be getting the replacement we ordered 2 weeks ago even though we are under warranty.. completely ridiculous .. worst customer service I’ve ever experienced

  • lano78 lano78 (@lano78) reported

@googlenesthelp No, it's a solid white light. No "none" english characters in name or password. It's been sorted now, factory reset solved the problem. Thanks for the help.

  • aaron_kravitz Aaron Kravitz (@aaron_kravitz) reported

@googlenesthelp any reason my Nest Cam (battery) with floodlight keeps going offline? It’s 20 feet from the router.

  • aaron_kravitz Aaron Kravitz (@aaron_kravitz) reported

@googlenesthelp Got an alert a couple hours ago saying it went offline. I’m able to access it via the app but not see video. It was installed a couple weeks ago.

  • aaron_kravitz Aaron Kravitz (@aaron_kravitz) reported

@googlenesthelp The floodlight is also saying offline even though it’s visible in the app. This has happened multiple times since I got it. It was installed by Best Buy.

  • jsg2021 Jonathan Grimes (@jsg2021) reported

Feature idea for @googlenest thermostats… provide logs. Mine notified me of an issue… now that I’ve addressed it, I want to have a better way to see if it’s totally fixed… than just waiting for the next notification warning or watching the thing explicitly.

  • NvdGoorbergh Nick vd Goorbergh (@NvdGoorbergh) reported

@googlenesthelp Hmm. Now they are all three offline.
