Changing terms of service, new tiers of disk usage limitations, 25% increased cost from last three year contract term and the latestest unethical billing practices. @HostGator is officially on the do not recommend list.

HostGator Support (@HGSupport) reported@dcodrea We know that popup looks sketchy, but it isn’t from your HostGator site; it’s a browser extension (Coupert) injecting coupon ads over your dashboard. Try incognito or another browser; if it’s gone, remove the extension. If not, support can help!

The people on the phone said since I don't have hosting with you they can't help me and nobody can help on the phone only in live chat that keeps getting disconnected while I wait on someone. There is a good chance that all of these sites have been wiped from their servers and are looking for an explanation that limits their liability. I have little hope that the sites will be restored. @HGSupport

Not every Wordpress problem has to do with theme or plugin, singularly. Also, there's an outstanding malware problem HostGator was supposed to solve and call me about, and did phone call.

We have successfully applied a critical cPanel security patch to your server. No action is required on your part.What HappenedOn April 28, 2026, cPanel's security team disclosed a critical authentication vulnerability affecting cPanel & WHM. As soon as we received notice of this vulnerability and the corresponding patch, our team moved swiftly to apply the update.
