Zero e-mails updating the situation, daily support chats (whose transcripts are emailed), multiple PM with you on this platform...and nothing. It is time for HG to begin providing real answers beyond cut-and-paste ones.

The people on the phone said since I don't have hosting with you they can't help me and nobody can help on the phone only in live chat that keeps getting disconnected while I wait on someone. Chris McElroy SEO (@seochrismcelroy) reportedI can't believe hostgator support has gotten this bad. I needed help with a domain transfer. Called them. Selected help with domain names in the menu. The people I got said since I don't have a hosting account with them they can't help me. I asked them to connect me with somebody that could. But the only thing you can do is chat when it comes to domain names. Never register your domain name at hostgator.

Not every Wordpress problem has to do with theme or plugin, singularly. Also, there's an outstanding malware problem HostGator was supposed to solve and call me about, and did phone call.

Not sure how sending you my information will help. I do know that tomorrow morning I'll be talking to my boss about KnownHost and InMotion as our new host. You may want to start looking at alternatives like Fresh Roasted Hosting. Their support is much more responsive, and the uptime has been solid in my experience.

We use Outlook for The Bookends Review and once a week, it'll stop sending and receiving mail because "503 Valid RCPT command must precede DATA." Then, I'll delete the emails we have in the HostGator CP and it'll work again. Any ideas how to fix?

Dustin (@DPRea) reportedAt 21 I started a web hosting company for under $500. - rented a server from HostGator - studied their "get your first 1,000 customers" ebook like scripture - pitched people in forums Shocker: nobody wanted web hosting from a college kid. So I changed the offer. I started selling websites instead. New website owners have the problem of "Where do I host this?" I would bundle the hosting as part of the website build in exchange for putting their credit card on file for next year. I didn't realize it at the time, but this is when I learned about the 'Front Doors' and 'Back Doors'. It's easy to fool yourself when researching a business or competitor when all you can see is their 'Front Door'. The offer on your competitor's website may look too good to be true and you may wonder how can they possibly do that? They have a 'Back Door' offer that must offset it and then some. You usually can't see it from the outside.
