Hostgator Issues Reports
Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:
-
Stella DiMarco (@Stelladmarco) reported@HostGator - their support staff has repeatedly displayed minimal to zero knowledge and are not much more than phone answering clerks. Numerous times we've been given false and varying info. as for the reason for issues #badwebhosting
-
Nes (@darthguero) reported@HGSupport @HostGator Absolutely horrible customer support. Gator AI told me a configuration was done and was not true. Tried email and it was rejected. Chats claimed my user ID was incorrect and unable to get it via email. Nothing ever came. Is this still a real company?
-
Spank (@mentaldischarge) reported@DerNord036 I miss HostGator. They were a great, local Texas company with excellent service, then they sold to some conglomerate and now it's trash manned by jeets.
-
Daniel Micovic (@DanMicovic) reported@HostGator @HGSupport entering day 6 without access to 3 revenue producing sites, and no one at HG has any answers, only cut-and-paste replies. Hearing nearly 50k sites still down and HG is recruiting help on Fiverr. Epic fail and clear signal that revenue producing sites cannot trust HG.
-
John Peterson (@johnpetersontx) reported@YoungbloodJoe @HostGator Instead, it's often better to put them on a managed hosting service of some sort. I found this out the hard way when I got hacked on a VPS because then I didn't keep up with package updates.
-
Dustin (@DPRea) reportedAt 21 I started a web hosting company for under $500. - rented a server from HostGator - studied their "get your first 1,000 customers" ebook like scripture - pitched people in forums Shocker: nobody wanted web hosting from a college kid. So I changed the offer. I started selling websites instead. New website owners have the problem of "Where do I host this?" I would bundle the hosting as part of the website build in exchange for putting their credit card on file for next year. I didn't realize it at the time, but this is when I learned about the 'Front Doors' and 'Back Doors'. It's easy to fool yourself when researching a business or competitor when all you can see is their 'Front Door'. The offer on your competitor's website may look too good to be true and you may wonder how can they possibly do that? They have a 'Back Door' offer that must offset it and then some. You usually can't see it from the outside.

Joe Moore (@aafc795) reported@cybernaira I had HostGator (the one I mentioned earlier with the Blue and Yellow colors) and Namecheap 9 years ago, and HG's follow up is excellent. They sent me emails to make sure everything was in order and if I needed any help. The dumb thing is, I never did anything with the Website.
-

-
Sleak (@Sleaklight) reportedAny we host recommendations? @hostgator now is going to limit how many email boxes we have and I want to jump ship. I only use it for email anyway as the sites there all got hacked and got no help from support.
-
Makarand Mane | Organising #WCAsia 2026 (@mkrndmane) reported@HGSupport I asked your support agent to create a ticket for 4 times. Then she created it. Provide an easy option to create support ticket instead of a chat option

Follow Me On GETTR Instead. I’m @AmericasMansMan (@PeterVadala) reportedAnd then @hostgator does this thing where they pretend to fix the problem, @newfoldDigital- but they send you to a tech person who can’t fix it I spent hours on the phone — something about optimizing the site. Clearly … not the answer. Let’s not forget when the tech people pick up the phone to clock in and ignore you for an hour… who the heck runs Newfold Digital

Twitty (@tweetnoxious) reported@JPTheStrayDog @HostGator Ai is the worst thing ever to happen to customer service
