Not sure how sending you my information will help. I do know that tomorrow morning I'll be talking to my boss about KnownHost and InMotion as our new host. Dustin (@DPRea) reportedAt 21 I started a web hosting company for under $500. - rented a server from HostGator - studied their "get your first 1,000 customers" ebook like scripture - pitched people in forums Shocker: nobody wanted web hosting from a college kid. So I changed the offer. I started selling websites instead. New website owners have the problem of "Where do I host this?" I would bundle the hosting as part of the website build in exchange for putting their credit card on file for next year. I didn't realize it at the time, but this is when I learned about the 'Front Doors' and 'Back Doors'. It's easy to fool yourself when researching a business or competitor when all you can see if their 'Front Door'. The offer on your competitor's website may look too good to be true and you may wonder how can they possibly do that? They have a 'Back Door' offer that must offset it and then some. You usually can't see it from the outside.

Not every Wordpress problem has to do with theme or plugin, singularly. Also, there's an outstanding malware problem HostGator was supposed to solve and call me about, and did phone call.

OkYall (@okyall55) reported@HostGator is the WORST! Refuses to honor links (says file doesn't exist). More than 2x expensive as @IONOS. Loses posts, media and just generally SUCKS! Customer Service is AWFUL! I'm like IONOS they have a partner who will back up your file for an expensive fee. Otherwise, they just delete your stuff and you have no option if you haven't backed it up yourself. I paid to restore a backup and didn't get half of what they deleted. The reason I know I didn't delete it myself is because it's not in the trash folder. HOSTGATOR DELETED and it's my opinion that they did it intentionally so that they could charge me for a restore and then they didn't really restore much of anything. I lost a lot of memories.

We use Outlook for The Bookends Review and once a week, it'll stop sending and receiving mail because "503 Valid RCPT command must precede DATA." Then, I'll delete the emails we have in the HostGator CP and it'll work again. Any ideas how to fix?

There is a good chance that all of these sites have been wiped from their servers and are looking for an explanation that limits their liability. I have little hope that the sites will be restored. @HGSupport

Hearing nearly 50k sites still down and HG is recruiting help on Fiverr. Epic fail and clear signal that revenue producing sites cannot trust HG.

The people I got said since I don't have a hosting account with them they can't help me. I asked them to connect me with somebody that could. But the only thing you can do is chat when it comes to domain names. Never register your domain name at hostgator.

Faizan Shaikh (@FaizanS1996) reported@DanMicovic @HGSupport @HostGator That’s rough, 2 weeks with no access is unacceptable, especially for email and client sites. You may want to start looking at alternatives like Fresh Roasted Hosting. Their support is much more responsive, and the uptime has been solid in my experience.

DNS tools can show SPF/DKIM/DMARC records more than once when zones or hostnames overlap or if the browser has some caching issues. If you reach out to support, we can review your DNS directly and make sure everything is set correctly.
