@IGcom The reason you are restricting is to protect the hedge funds who are still shorted to more than 13 billion, by restricting buy market you will hope to force the price down controlling the market ....robinhood did the same and cost a lot of retail invetors on thursday.

@jaeson72 @IGcom Had zero issues trading AMC personally, I have a 350 mbps connection. This is rife manipulation to protect hedge funds and screw over private investors. What’s good for you is not good for everyone. People will loose millions because of this fraudulent behaviour.

@IGcom I can certainly see the point, the responsibility for stability of the platform as a whole is much more important than the restriction of two equities. Its likely your systems detected the traffic flow as a DDOS attack and started rejecting any other api calls made to it.

@ftweekend you ran a story today about wallstreet bets. Today IG has done a @RobinhoodApp and shut down its customers from trading in $AMC and $GME stocks. Only option left for some customers is to sell at a loss. Anybody know a willing UK Class-action lawyer? @IGClientHelp
