@PhillipBoushy @MicrosoftTeams And you’re assuming that the native installers are able to solve every need, which is not a reliable assumption. In any case, the language use literally doesn’t solve problems involving installers that won’t run on a VM. Or require internet access for license activation.

Wish list for @MicrosoftTeams: 1. right click on pic to send direct msg 2. move through the list of attendees, to see their pics (scroll left / right) 3. sort a list of attendees using other criteria (last interventions, last login time) 4. (as a teacher) allow me to unmute some

@Apple with the update of iOS 14.6, we cannot add multiple device profiles which is linked to @Outlook @MicrosoftTeams having multiple accounts. This was functioning until the previous versions and got broken with the 14.6 iOS update. I am on iPhone 12Pro. Please fix this ASAP.

@PhillipBoushy @MicrosoftTeams Unless those don’t work for your needs. And it is possible to include runtimes in installers. How good an idea that is? Different story. But using shell instead of python solves exactly one problem that no one running the installer needs to care about.

I tried to upload a PDF that had a pipe (|) character in the title to a Teams folder, only to get "Sorry, there was a problem uploading this file. Please try again." Turns out it didn't like the filename; lucky I figured that out myself. Fantastic UX, @MicrosoftTeams! 🤦

@MicrosoftTeams is a terrible software. So much issue and bugs to even bloody login. Made me I missed very important meeting. That's why zoom is a lot more friendly and effective.
-
John C. Welch
(@bynkii) reported
@PhillipBoushy @MicrosoftTeams I’ve been dealing with installer problems a long time, and literally, I’ve yet to see a problem caused by the language used in the installer scripts. Focusing on that solves, again, one problem that isn’t really a problem. Scripting language didn’t cause zoom’s issues.
-
John C. Welch
(@bynkii) reported
@PhillipBoushy @MicrosoftTeams I’m aware. But it’s a secondary concern. Any supported language can be used, you can include the necessary files/runtimes in the package. But that doesn’t fix the issues I’m actually talking about, and some of the problems I listed exist on macOS.

@microsoftteams New update has picture of person on you call to the right of the window. When calling and reviewing info this creates a loss of screen space that is not good. Full screen has same issue. Better person on top or bottom to maximize screen width.
-
John C. Welch
(@bynkii) reported
@PhillipBoushy @MicrosoftTeams Or don’t let you pick non-default locations. Or use old APIs that limit path & file size limits. Or require a window manager to run on Linux. Using shell instead of python solves *none* of those problems, which is why I literally could *not* care less about twee shot like that.

John C. Welch
(@bynkii) reported
@PhillipBoushy @MicrosoftTeams That’s a solvable problem, a well-solved problem. If maximum cross-platform is what you want, shell is bollocks too. You either use different languages appropriate for the target, or include a runtime with your installer. But none of that makes an installer good or bad.
