Marc McVey

@AkashaThorne @sinclairinat0r @MicrosoftTeams Being able to add plug ins (Azure DevOps & Octopus, etc) without having to pass an act of Congress to add them (again, that’s an org problem not a software problem).

Anna
(@annarages) reported
@AkashaThorne @MicrosoftTeams We did at my last job, and honestly it wasn’t the best experience. We had a lot of severe issues with overwriting/losing updates when trying to collaborate on documents. The organization of media also was not intuitive, and it was easy to miss updates to files. 1/2

@endocrimes @MicrosoftTeams Yeah I have the same problem for sure. Do you have any suggestions that would make it less overwhelming for you? I've been thinking it would be nice to be able to set colors for threads / groups.

@AkashaThorne @MicrosoftTeams It's the death of a thousand cuts. Setting aside stability issues, the two that immediately come to mind: 1) Unwillingness to use MacOS's built in notification functionality. That means that I have to silence notifications in teams, independently of everything else.

Kyle Clarke
(@KyleClarkeNZ) reported
@AkashaThorne @MicrosoftTeams It's slow in our virtual machine environment. It seems to hog a lot of resources. I've disabled hardware acceleration which seems to help. But is still slow and unstable.

@MicrosoftTeams So difficult, and sometimes not doable, to attach a photo to a Teams channel or chat!! Please fix this.

phil swenson
(@philswenson) reported
@AkashaThorne @MicrosoftTeams yes, company choice... complaints: markdown support esp for code is flakey and inconsistent (slack implements much better). lack of native mac features (like select a word and hit "lookup" for dictionary), slow, uses a lot of memory

@gaggaz @AkashaThorne @MicrosoftTeams I will give it the webcam thing does seem to be a port issue, but I'm more interested in snippet sharing in the context of a dev-specific thread

@AkashaThorne @MicrosoftTeams Yes since my company uses it . It has pretty much all the same problems Skype had for calls .

Ash Lux
(@ashlux) reported
@AkashaThorne @MicrosoftTeams I do have some specific issues with audio/video part. When sharing there's a popup that places itself over what I'm sharing. I try to move it out of the way but it has a tendency to just pop back where I don't want it.

(@aspiringicarus) reported
@AkashaThorne @ChloeCondon @MicrosoftTeams The threads thing is really jarring coming from Slack/Webex Teams (which has its own laundry list of issues)/most other chat interfaces I’ve used. I wish there was an option for a more traditional layout

@QuinnyPig @MicrosoftTeams You are not alone. The audio settings every call fail to be remembered for me, and that's one of a dozen usability issues that plague me.
-
Graham Young
(@Grahambo_Young) reported
@MicrosoftTeams Tested this out today and I’m unable to delete messages received from external senders, no issues from within org. Also, emails to channel cannot handle any prepended disclaimers
-
Jonathan Cormier
(@Rancorm) reported
@MicrosoftTeams To clarify I was using the Desktop version, mobile version this is probably not a issue as Request to Join is basically a call button. But, on the Desktop with a mouse/trackball it a different situation :)

@MicrosoftTeams Is Microsoft applications down for Colombia? Server status page won’t even load.
-
Kyle Clarke
(@KyleClarkeNZ) reported
@AkashaThorne @MicrosoftTeams It works well on a mobile device, but most in my team refuse to use it on desktop. When working remotely it's especially unstable (this is most likely an issue in our side. Under specd VMs). We use VMWare for our VMs.

@pddring @MrAColley I've seen that too, some don't have a problem talking in that chat but would never talk in the classroom. What's odd is some students I can't get to stop talking in a classroom but won't say a thing in @MicrosoftTeams #caschat

Manuel Repol
(@ManuelRepol) reported
@AkashaThorne @MicrosoftTeams It uses way too much memory. Corporate computers usually have a lot of background processes already using lots of cpu/RAM, combine that with low end computers and you have a slow machine. Also, the renderer it's painfully slow on integrated graphics.

@zkat__ @MicrosoftTeams I feel the same way. The🤬"knock brush" sound legit gives me an anxiety attack. I have the same trouble with Teams, though. Sometimes my laptop locks up completely 😭

@AkashaThorne @ChloeCondon @MicrosoftTeams I’d say having multi-team switching wld help. I really like it convo threading. But it could be more responsive. It feels like it’s slow to load relative to Discord and the paging for scrolling back or forward any distance is really a bummer.

@shanselman We’re remote at the moment, so @MicrosoftTeams should just shut down at the 5/10 minute before mark and say “you’re waffling now”.

@dascandy42 @AkashaThorne @MicrosoftTeams What would you say are the Top-3 problems with Teams?
-
Ash Lux
(@ashlux) reported
@AkashaThorne @MicrosoftTeams I'm using it on OSX - idk how much that matters vs. using it on Windows. Part of my problem may be a lack of familiarity too.
-
Ronald Vallenduuk
(@vallenduuk_ie) reported
@MicrosoftTeams It's not chat functionality. Teams regularly (and feels like most often on Monday) refuses to connect. Browser and Outlook are connected to the internet, but Teams won't. Restarting teams doesn't help, restarting network connection doesn't help, have to reboot Windows to fix it.

(@dascandy42) reported
@AkashaThorne @MicrosoftTeams The next big problem is the UI. It is an absolute horror to navigate. It tries to contain so many different things and be so many different applications at the same time that using it is like using a Swiss Army Knife to cut steak - a horrible experience because of it.
-
Peter Bindels
(@dascandy42) reported
@AkashaThorne @MicrosoftTeams Another bit is the styling. Nobody on Windows would notice, because it looks like a Windows app. Even on platforms where that sticks out like a sore thumb. Continuing; some of the SSO login portals forgot to implement a "wrong organization" button. The only workaround for that..
