There are many areas where private sector is welcome but not when strategic PSU's are killed to give this excuse for opening the sector to private players. Jio was built on MTNL's towers . OFB Kanpur will slowly look like the poor cousin of Adani Aerospace next door..

Robin Rohit (@AaltooJalaltoo) reportedLoved my MTNL sim, but post Covid they have practically given Jio and Airtel a clear monopoly. No towers, no signal. I have to go to the Ghatkopar MTNL office just to get an otp. Had to switch to Jio unfortunately. And have an SIP of 350-500 every month now in Jio.

Chenthil (@jcrajan00) reported@zerodhamarkets Maharatna label amplifies DNA, doesn't change it. NTPC was profitable before autonomy. MTNL had Navratna since '97 and still cratered. I think the harder question: does CIL's 82% market share represent earned dominance or just a legal monopoly that never had to compete?

Rαjdeep (@Rajspeaking) reportedA friend sent me a gift and gave my MTNL number, which doesn’t get network in my apartment. The delivery guy needed an OTP to hand it over, so I went with him on his bike while he completed another delivery, and I finally got network there and received the OTP lol.
