I had a long request with MTNL for a landline and internet connection to my home at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. At last I have to go with private service providers.. Hope to see better service from our national organisation.

  True. So True. I remember when my father died in 88, I was barely a teen. We had two LAN lines. I was trying to get one transferred from Delhi home. I was young and naive. MTNL guy was corrupted and I had no help from family. He took our one line to transfer the other one. India has come a long way looking at those days.

It reports heavy losses (₹897 Cr net loss Q3 FY26, revenue down 24% YoY) & debt over ₹23k Cr. BSNL is vital: Pan-India leader in rural/strategic areas (where privates lag), BharatNet broadband, defense SATCOM, & secure networks for govt depts/police.   @Ananth_IRAS Went to Telegraph Office in Mumbai some time back. One of the floors is handling MTNL pensioners' issue. Early 80s I used to send Telegrams from here to my parents. Climbing up those circular stairs made me emotional.Lots of history embedded in those spiralling stairs ! Preserve.
