Gaurav (@TechAna234) reportedMTNL — ₹17,571 Cr NCD Rating Still On Watch India Ratings has maintained MTNL’s ₹17,571 Cr NCDs at IND AAA(CE), but the Rating Watch with Negative Implications continues. The key concern: delays in funding the designated account meant for bond servicing. The rating is supported by an unconditional GoI guarantee and the structured payment mechanism. MTNL had just ₹115 Cr of cash as of March 31, 2026, which is being used for interest payments until asset monetisation proceeds are exhausted. India Ratings expects continued GoI support, but any non-adherence to the payment mechanism could increase the risk of delays in servicing the bonds.

BSNLCare (@bsnl_care) reported@msahluwalia Dear Sir, We understand your concern regarding the limited recharge options currently available to former MTNL customers in Delhi NCR despite various BSNL plans being promoted through messages, calls, and the BSNL app. We regret the inconvenience caused. Your feedback regarding the availability of additional prepaid plans and benefits for migrated MTNL subscribers has been noted and shared with the concerned team for review and consideration. We appreciate your valuable feedback and continued support. Regards, BSNL Care (Gopal)

Loustinianós Augustus (@princepoptimus) reportedThe evidence-based conclusion — no spinning, no partisanship: UPA deserves genuine credit for: ✅ INS Vikrant keel, Vikramaditya deal, P-75 contract ✅ RTI, Aadhaar foundation, nuclear deal ✅ CPSE framework (Maharatna/Navratna architecture) ✅ T-90 armour, C-17 airlift, Arjun Mk1 induction ✅ IIT/IIM expansion, MGNREGA, RTE UPA's honest failures: ❌ 28-year artillery gap (not broken despite 10 years in power) ❌ NPA crisis — hid ₹8–10L cr bad loans via CDR ❌ World's #1 arms importer; domestic industry starved ❌ MMRCA: 10 years, 0 jets, 0 orders for HAL ❌ No insolvency law — defaulters ruled banks ❌ Bofors, AgustaWestland — defence procurement corrupted NDA's record: ✅ Artillery drought ended. INSAS replaced. Ammo indigenised 91%. ✅ IBC 2016 — paradigm shift in creditor rights ✅ Defence exports 34×. Production 3.3×. ✅ Vikrant commissioned. Arihant + Arighaat operational. ✅ Operation Sindoor — 9 targets, indigenous weapons, validated. NDA's honest gaps: ❌ Kaveri engine still stuck (multi-decade inherited problem) ❌ P-75I unsigned (2026) ❌ Disinvestment targets repeatedly missed ❌ Agnipath: bold idea, rushed rollout ❌ BSNL/MTNL — still unresolved The bottom line: on public sector, defence, banking, Navy and Army — NDA's structural record is stronger. UPA's contributions were often real but came with corruption, paralysis, and hidden rot. NDA fixed the rot — expensively, sometimes slowly, but durably.

Anand Vasu (@anandvasu) reportedWe had just come back to his home in Govindpuri Extension. While I topped up the press club experience with an Old Monk and water, Jassi whipped up his standard but delicious one-pot pressure pan dinner. Faces stuffed we slept, only for him to rouse me three hours later. He was sleepless and decided that an impromptu trip to Kasauli was the right thing to do. We set off in the darkness and the cop who stopped us to ask where we were going got an earful: even my wife doesn’t ask me that, who are you? Was the extent of his response and the cop just smiled and waved us on. We had no hotel booking, no plan, but the air was cool and crisp even as Delhi baked. Having got there, of course he had work to do: and here he was a table parked in the one spot where MTNL signal was available. Of course it was his idea to take photos of each other in front of a tunnel on the train tracks, because, why not? Jaswinder Sidhu did this, and so much more for me. As a journalist he had healthy contempt for the English-speaking swish set that travelled the world and wanted to be close to the players: I was all of that. Jassi did not abide access journalism of any kind, and yet he saw something in me. Jassi indulged me, in his home, at mine, in press clubs around the country and in press boxes around the world. We played cricket together, ate, drank, laughed, and I occasionally cried. But he would not abide my tears because he did not suffer self-pity trips or wallowing. Words are not enough today, but they will have to suffice. I have not lost a friend: I’ve lost an example of many things I wanted to be when I grew up. He was not without fault, of course, and it would dishonour the honesty with which he lived and the unapologetic manner in which he was himself if I portrayed him as some sort of saint today, now that he is no longer with us. But, Jassi had admirable qualities: he always turned up for his friends, and I am fortunate to count myself among this number. He had an opinion and would share it, especially if it disagreed with yours. His would be the first call or message on days when I had a piece in the Hindustan Times that caught his eye. “Vasu, that is a very good story …” he would begin, and by the end of the conversation he would have gently but firmly shown me how it could have been so much better. Jassi would hate to be called a teacher or mentor, but I learned more from him than he will ever know. Today, I have not lost a friend. A person who reflected the best in me, unfailing supported me and never judged me for my many faults, is gone forever. I only hope he is in peace, because that is what he offered to anyone who was his friend in this chaotic, cruel world that many of us can’t make sense of. Go well my brother, you will always have your beloved Waheguru’s blessings and my love and eternal gratitude.

Vidyut (@Vidyut) reportedIdea for @RahulGandhi election promises - revive BSNL and MTNL properly. Easy bookings, good coverage. If the private companies need to make a profit, limit it to 2g/3g, but keep their low budget phone plans alive. You can simply stand on stage and read out their recharge plan prices to get all the votes. Right now the public can't use them widely due to coverage issues. And this is not just for the poor. You can keep a phone no you mostly need for OTPs alive for a year in Rs. 321 if you're a Tamil Nadu police officer (as a comment below pointed out) - this could be extended to the poor! Loads of people who use separate numbers for banking and social media would vote for this.
