@sweta0615 Jio launched in 2016. BJp government is single handedly responsible for destroying a cash cow like BSNL and handing Over telecom sector to Ambanis. BSNL & MTNL were strong and well established PSUs. Digital Indian depends on fiber network. This could so easily have stayed with the government. But Government helped Ambanis introduce pedatory monopolistic strategies, this broke the backbone of competition and now people do not have choices.

Before 2014, India had a highly competitive telecom market with over 10 active operators, including major players Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, BSNL, Reliance, Aircel, Tata Docomo, Uninor, MTS, Videocon & MTNL. Now we have only Jio, Airtel & Vi. BJP built monopolies to help a few.

@sumitsaurabh That's why we stuck with mtnl and Vodafone even when they went through bad times...only to find mtnl ceased to respond after stopping service in April and still encashed the autobillpayment upto September without ever bothering to restore service!

2 - national disaster. Imagine this: Only 2 private telcos left standing. Jio + Airtel. Vi gone. BSNL/MTNL limping on life support. What happens next?

Whenever you would mention about poor network connectivity of BSNL & MTNL, the Sanskari VishwaGuru, without wasting a second will suggest you to port to JIO or Airtel, in the same manner they unabashedly suggest their contrarians to go to Pakistan & Afghanistan.
