Aditya Garg 🇮🇳 (@Garg_Aditya_) reportedI was looking at the active Telecom Companies in India today. Honestly, it is surprising to see the list now compared to a decade ago. 🤯 Here are the ones left standing: 1. Reliance Jio 2. Bharti Airtel 3. Vodafone Idea (Vi) 4. BSNL / MTNL ...And that is literally it for major commercial mobile operators. Remember 10 years ago when we used to have all of these? 💀 Tata Docomo 💀 Aircel 💀 Reliance Communications (RCom) 💀 Telenor / Uninor 💀 Virgin Mobile 💀 MTS 💀 Videocon We went from 10+ operators fiercely competing over our ₹10 and ₹20 recharges to a near Duopoly. The Indian telecom sector went from a heavily crowded market to a high-stakes survival game in just one decade. The cost of data went down, but the cost of survival went through the roof. 📉

Nagesh Pai (blue tick) (@nagpai) reportedA general theme of Government owned service - Infinite job security, regular increments with cost of living, zero performance accountability or motivation to keep business sustainable. I kicked out MTNL the day Reliance infocom started landline. (2000-s)

Sandeep shah (@Sandeepshah62) reportedIs this fair treatment for customers? Jio has become so big that no one listens. We moved from MTNL to tata to Jio thinking we will have great service! Down the hill! @_MukeshAmbani

Rohit D Kriplani (@rdkriplani) reported@NJain_2021 The govt knows better than US. Never know they come out w a good profit later. Or they merge BSNL/MTNL which costs than a whole lot more. Never know what their thinking is…and some things are imp for national infra. So better to save than focus purely on interest… Eg: We should’ve saved reliance defence coz it slowed down a couple of our key navy acquisitions.

Suresh Nair (@SureshN79413855) reported@TelecomTalk First please try to provide proper coverage and signal strength. All this useless hi-fi talk later. By leaving BSNL to die and wasting tax payer money on Vodafone, trying to fool people. What is the status of MTNL/BSNL in Mumbai? Even airports are not covered. Shame Telecom.

Anil Rana,CFA (@AnilCfa) reported@jitenkparmar When a core business model breaks, adaptation is slow, painful, and uncertain. MTNL never fully recovered from the shift in telecom. Indian IT now faces its own disruption — AI is replacing billable hours with outcome-based delivery, reducing the need for large headcounts. They may adapt. But timelines are unclear, winners are unknown, and valuations are still not cheap. In disruption phases, hope is not a strategy. Only deep margin of safety (very low valuations) protects capital. Not every “cheap” stock is value — many are value traps in disguise.
