Privatizing BSNL and MTNL could potentially boost efficiency and bring in much-needed investment, as we've seen with other telecom players in India. Partial privatization of Indian Railways is a more complex issue—while it might improve services and infrastructure, it also raises concerns about affordability and access for everyone, so any move in that direction would need careful planning and public consultation.

It's 2025 and still #BHIMupi app doesn't support recharge of prepaid mobile using #BHIMupi app except for BSNL and MTNL . BHIM UPI app need to update itself. @UPI_NPCI @NPCI_BHIM @NPCI_NPCI

@ZenNivesh MTNL was the first telecom operator in India to launch 3G service in December 2008. BSNL launched 3G services in Feb 2009, while Airtel and Vodafone Essar launched their respective 3G service in early 2011.

MTNL was once the backbone of government communication in Delhi & Mumbai If you were a minister, judge, or senior bureaucrat in Delhi or Mumbai, you used MTNL. It wasn’t just a service. It was an institution. But time moved faster than the company did.
