@obiexyz @PayPal This is a related problem with mine earlier today. Write to them @securedteam to rectify and help you out.

@disclosetv Love that @PayPal backed down, waited for the heat to simmer and then was like “haha jk you thought”. So many creators have problems with PayPal keeping their money already, there’s no point in using them when there are alternatives already popping up.

Paypal’s doubling down and reinstated it’s $2500 fine for “misinformation.” They’re either gutsy or stupid

@WatcherGuru I guess they do want to go bankrupt. Originally, this felt coordinated to take down PayPal. But they return that?

@CicerosJungle @disclosetv The CEO of PayPal is well backed by the @wef, not sure if he will have any sort of problem

PayPal reinstating it’s “accidental” policy that fines people up to $2,500 for content they don’t like only a handful of weeks after saying it was an error.

@ThePatriarchy10 @Timcast I read it, but I don't see anything really new? I certainly don't see the misinformation bit at least and the rewording doesn't seem to be an issue? I just want to make sure I understand. It's still worth dropping Paypal anyway, just want to understand the new issue.

@PayPal Hey, you said the 2,500 bucks fine was a "mistake". Why is it back on your ToS? You seem to be asking to be in trouble.

@RoiRolin Damn, I'm sorry, the problem with Paypal is it's accessible & easy for everyone. That's probably why they're being ***** now, cause they know they can get away with it 😭 IK there's also something called Skrill, but I couldn't tell you the legitimacy of it. (1/2)

@WatcherGuru Shouldn't PayPal then have a list of safe opinions on emerging issues? Who's to know what their fact-checkers deem true on any given day. It's too vague to make sense.

Stay 3rd Gen was actually cheaper for me??? I only paid $56.64 and I used my credit card. I had a feeling PayPal would give us issues.

@Speedy6617 Did you read the clause? "If you are a seller..." Meaning, if you are selling and profiting off misinformation, hate, etc. PayPal has a right to fine you for using their services to promote such issues. Seems like a solid step on their end.

(@BordoniAndres) reported
@GayRepublicSwag @PayPal The problem before was that they had removed that part where it says the fine is only IF you did wrongful transactions. So it looked like they were going to fine you for anything you did on that list of possible damages (including just 'spreading misinformation').

(@heweymedia) reported
Remember a few weeks ago when it was leaked that Paypal was planning on fining users $2500 if they “spread misinformation” and they backtracked and said it was a mistake? Well now that the backlash died down, they quietly added it back to their terms of service…

So PayPal has quietly put back their $2500 fine on people for “misinformation.” They just waited for the attention to die down and then put it back in their terms of service. Wow!

@jeremyknauff It's really really simple. Don't defraud people and you won't have a problem. You steal money, sell snake oils to people, lie to people about what they're paying for? You're a thief and PayPal won't work with you. Simple.
