PENNY L.A. SHEPARD (@shepardout) reportedI am ready stressed right now. My bank account is really low and I had alot of unexpected charges come in this month and more are coming. If you can possibly donate a few dollars to my Paypal I would really appreciate it. My time is stretched, and have been working on technical issues for two weeks. I have had to spend money on software and medical and office that have put me dangerously low in my bank account. If you can afford even a small donation, could you please send emergency funds I would be so appreciative!

Morpheu5 Stock Watcher (@Morpheu5Watcher) reportedPAYPAL $PYPL: WE NAMED THE WRONG CATALYST AND THE STOCK ROSE 39% ANYWAY: PayPal $PYPL at $58.85 (after hours), -$0.22 / -0.37% from Monday's $59.07 close. On June 22 this account put the San Jose payments network on the Deep-Value and Special-Situations Len5 at roughly $42.51, near 8x earnings, and named its catalyst: the 2026 reorganization into three units, with a re-rate to 12-15x as the case. Monday's close sits +$16.56 / +38.9% above that quote. The re-rate arrived. The stated reason did not. Where the move came from: on July 15, privately held Stripe and private-equity firm Advent International made an unsolicited joint offer at $60.50 a share - more than $53B, backed by about $50B of committed bank financing. The stock went $47.37 to $55.52 in one session, +$8.15 / +17.2%. That one day is 49% of everything gained since June. The offer is still unsolicited and unaccepted: no formal response from PayPal, no signed merger agreement, no closing date. The thesis check, on the July 28 print for the June quarter. Total payment volume - the dollars moving through its systems - $486.4B, +10%; net revenue $8.68B, +5%. But transaction margin dollars, what PayPal keeps from each payment after the cost of moving it, rose 1% to $3.9B (+3% ex-interest on customer balances). GAAP EPS $1.25, -3% YoY; adjusted EPS - profit per share with some items stripped - $1.38 vs about $1.28 modeled, still -1% YoY. Volume grew ten times faster than the profit line the cheap-multiple argument rested on. The reorganization is real - announced April 29, live June 2 - and has not reached the profit line. So the multiple moved without the earnings: near 11x on roughly $5.38 of guided full-year adjusted EPS, up from ~8x in June and most of the way to the 12-15x that note wanted - delivered by a bidder. The tape carries the bid's shape too: $1.43 / 2.4% up to the offer, against $11.70 / 19.8% back to the $47.37 paid the day before the news. Len5 read, all six files opened this pass. Quality-Value carries PayPal, twenty-eighth on its ranked list - that style wants a durable franchise at a fair price, and 439M active accounts plus $6.0B of buybacks over twelve months is the durable half; a signed deal at $60.50 retires the question. The Deep-Value and Special-Situations file reads as of August 4 and does not carry it - an unsigned bid is an event you cannot underwrite; a definitive agreement with a close date changes that. Momentum, Growth, and Hypergrowth are no on one fact: mid-single-digit revenue with earnings down is neither a breakout nor growth at any price. Reaccelerating transaction margin moves it. Income is out on mechanics - no dividend, buyback only. One name rising says nothing about a way of reading the market - only about that name. The stock got its re-rate. The reorganization has not earned one, and only one of those two things can be taken back by a press release.

Nickbutterscotch (@NickR0623) reported@AlphaNews Should be easy to find them all, you need payment, get a subpoena for all credit card, PayPal, whatever other forms of payment and go arrest them if it was a problem. They all have GPS trackers too so you could just go after those on the freeway.

Jayne : stand your ground (@JaynenotJanie) reported@KissMyCarol Too much de-banking and platforms making decisions based on social credit. I know the D banking has greatly improved and is likely not going to come back in a big way. But I had a PayPal account and they had put out several years ago that if you made unacceptable statements on social media Facebook etc. that they would confiscate up to $2500 from your bank account And sequester that money for your PayPal purchases. So I eliminated my PayPal account and I refuse to work with any corporation that threatens me. I don't think that X will do anything like that but I don't know what will happen down the road and I just don't trust what already happened to me Also how's your first night of retirement?

Nick (@NiiiickMMA) reported@videogamedeals I've always preferred physical out of habit, but back in 2022 my Nintendo account got banned for a PayPal chargeback. Problem is I don't have a PayPal account. I got unbanned but the 2-3 days I was banned all my digital games were locked. Reinforced how important ownership is.

Dogman705 (@Dogman705) reported@jaggedmaven this is a pretty large rant, but: i cannot run nightshade because getting an @AMDRadeon was my worse mistake this year. i found some of my stuff in some datasets that are widely used for ai training, so i cannot actually post anything without poisoning it, and i cant do it. and i have yet to set even a workflow to get the comissions running, i need to use USDT or USDC, that is my ONLY choice, and im kinda discouraged due fanbox and subscribestar are also not viable because @Wise would just let me down by its own rules, that somehow are above any involved country laws, and using paypal is just begging to be robbed. so by the time i solve my problems i'll face unfair competition by some ai dude profiting from my own effort if i continue posting, but if i dont post more often my reach will be buried into oblivion.

Alla Manshin| Tangem (@aliihsanozturkk) reported@bksolomon That sounds like a payment/order synchronization issue not evidence that the wallet itself is unsafe. If PayPal shows the payment completed but no Tangem order was created, shoot me a DM so I can trace the payment & arrange a refund Do you have the PayPal transaction ID?

Chaminda Delpagodage (@chams_builds) reportedat PayPal we had a rule: systems must fail safe, not fail open. when something breaks, it locks down, it doesn't fling the doors open. same rule for AI agents: when unsure, it should stop and ask, not confidently guess. design for the bad day.

Bee♧ (@blond3dBee) reportedCaller (Jake): “I’m 16, and I make around $50,000 to $80,000 a month doing e-commerce. “My mom has no idea. “She’s very traditional, and I’m afraid she’ll shut it down if I tell her.” Dave Ramsey: “You’re making $50,000 a month at 16 years old?” Jake: “Yes, sir. “I run Shopify dropshipping stores, eBay arbitrage, and a bunch of online businesses. “I have a little over $300,000 sitting in a PayPal account because my mom is joint on my bank account.” Dave Ramsey: “So you’ve been doing this for four or five months?” Jake: “About eight months. The first few months were slow, and then it picked up really fast.” Dave Ramsey: “Your mother doesn’t know any of this?” Jake: “No. All the money is in PayPal because she’s joint on my bank account. “I want to tell her, but I know she’ll be very skeptical of what I’m doing. “She’s always told me she wants me to take a traditional path, and I’m worried she’ll put an end to it.”

0.1% (@sandy4kad) reportedPeter Thiel stood in front of Stanford students in 2014 and told them competition is for losers. He had already founded PayPal, co-founded Palantir, and backed Facebook. The room was full of people who had spent their entire lives winning competitions. He told them the game itself was the problem. Create X dollars of value for the world. Capture Y percent of X. Those two numbers are independent. Airlines generated $195 billion in U.S. revenue that year. Google did $50 billion. Cumulative profits of the entire U.S. airline industry over a hundred years: roughly zero. Google’s market cap already dwarfed the sector. Perfect competition looks efficient on a chalkboard. In practice it destroys capital. Monopoly looks dangerous on a chalkboard. In practice it compounds for decades. Non-monopolists lie by shrinking the market: “We’re the only British restaurant in Palo Alto.” Monopolists lie by expanding it: “We’re just one advertising company in a $500 billion global market.” The actual move is the opposite of what business school teaches. Start in a market so small it looks worthless. Own it completely. Then expand in concentric circles. PayPal began with 20,000 eBay power sellers. Facebook began with 10,000 Harvard students. Both looked like toys until the circle grew. Most of a technology company’s value lives in cash flows ten to twenty years out. Growth is easy to measure. Durability is what the market actually prices. “All happy companies are different. All unhappy companies are alike because they failed to escape the essential sameness of competition.” The lecture is free on YouTube. The book is $15. Every framework fits on a napkin. Almost every founder on X posts the title while competing in the same crowded category as everyone else. The lecture is free. The willingness to walk past the crowded door and take the empty gate nobody is watching is a much rarer commodity than the advice itself.
