Paytm --as a PSP-- is great, but their customer service and support is really pathetic. They themselves don't know what they are suggesting and what is the actual issue! Please re-structure your mechanism, its really hopeless, even @vijayshekhar ji will criticize. @Paytmcare

@jeewangarg_ @Paytm @vijayshekhar With great power came greater responsibilities. Even though you think Paytm was the founding father for digital payments, living up to its name was not a task they handled well. They faced serious reputation damage due to multiple issues: In early 2024, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) ordered Paytm Payments Bank to stop accepting new deposits citing “persistent non-compliance” including flaws in KYC procedures and governance concerns. This led to loss of consumer and investor confidence. India’s financial crime agency (ED) accused Paytm and its subsidiaries of violating foreign exchange rules with investments and foreign funding irregularities. Paytm’s CEO faced regulatory penalties from SEBI for stock option violations and misuse of influence in equity allocations. Two Paytm Payments Bank employees were arrested for fraud involving releasing frozen funds unlawfully. Though Paytm’s app and payment services continue, these legal and compliance failures made it a controversial name, eroding confidence in its banking operations and raising questions about governance and risk management.
