The RIAA failed in the late 90's and 00's with trying to shut down file sharing, they lost millions fighting it and looking like *****. Instead, streaming services popped up, labels evolved, and we have Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube Music, etc. I just don't get it...

If you buy an $800 DAC for streaming something like Spotify from your phone...I am going to call you an idiot. Spotify is a lossy service. Bluetooth is a lossy transport. You're literally stuffing **** through ****. Why are you paying $800 to listen to ****?

@Sudo_Scientist well here's another piece of data. I provided to Spotify a list of all composition data w/ ownership info, % controlled etc along with list of all sound recordings for each composition including ISRCs & all the other data and still did not get paid. The problem was not the data

@jackmurphylive No,not ads per se. But if working with your hands every time there is one it doesn't lapse back to podcast without intervention. Also data demand from video will pause. Each time you have to down tools, dig out phone, restart etc. Seamless as audio on Spotify

@Sudo_Scientist I agree. there is value to blockchain and distributed databases. But in regard to the MLC and payment of mechanical royalties from Apple Music, Spotify etc, its just not a fit as the problem is not around the issues Blockchain addresses

The thing about the Spotify app free version is that like... whatever I'll listen to ads. But let me pick what song I wanna listen to. Why do I have to shuffle everything Whose idea was this. You're still getting money off the ads so why are you making this a terrible experience?

@duudestellar @elonmusk P.s. I have recently chosen to rejoin Spotify because we are now so far down the wrong road that people listen not to artists but to platforms. "You aren't on Spotify? Sorry, I can't hear you then". It was a very tough decision. But it comes with a plan. It is not surrender.
