Then the guy takes the remaining amount but u don't get receipt/message. Now Vodafone starts bombarding U with the old bill. Is it a scam?

You will ask them to DM the details. Next few days You will say " we are working". Finally you will end, saying you have done the max.

I expect a proper explanation and an immediate investigation into how a 16-year-old number could be permanently deactivated so quickly?? And help me to get it back asap.
