    Sorry, if one doesn't learn from others' mistakes, one is doomed to learn it the hard way, from one's own. Not that BSNL/ MTNL was doing a wonderful job ( I had to take 1/2 day leave everytime the home landline came down - that's monthly), but wish your friends change now!

    @bsnl_care Latest update when I went to mtnl office they told me they don't have any idea about the online sim booking so i buyed a new sim from them worth rs157 but it's been more then 4 hours but sim isn't showing any network. Rebooted phone and reinstalled the sim multiple time no use.

    @JM_Scindia Complied all reqts to port 986894716 MTNL 2 BSNL on 5.5.26 since 30days.Sim not activated. Cmd & khandpal, Vijender of Nehru Pl approached 4 help.3 visits 2 officer 106 Nehru Place. Am 88yrs old sick. Pl revert mob. 2 old Garuda plan. 9810644551

You can visit the nearest MTNL office with a valid ID proof and UPC code (for porting) to get a new SIM or complete the port-in process.     They have taken over mtnl and are working to deliver pan india 5G services for their users in the next 1 year. It will be cheapest 5G but their coverage will be a problem in urban area. Rural areas they are way more efficient than any private player

    @ajayrotti This obsession of terming every baggage of PSU era as “the family silver” is extreme among Indians. Air India, HMT, MTNL, BSNL and the list will go on. These are the among the worst thing to have happened that existed due to govt monopoly and struggled once opened to competition

    @Mrsinha Enjoy privatization once we attacked air india,bsnl,mtnl for their pathetic service. Now we are hesistant to blame jio,airtel .

    @pbhushan1 Not many choices sir,all service providers behave same. It seems at last we will have to rely on MTNL and BSNL
