Innovative products (@vgoel28) reported@DealsDhamaka This is **** service by @airtelindia It can't give perplexity free for limited time & then suddenly pass on the headache to customers to manually cancel by creating panic by sending unnecessary msgs. If users are not going to get charged, msg text must have been different.

Abhimanyu Kulkarni (@abhi_kulkarni85) reportedPerplexity has to be one of the worst AI apps I have ever used. I used Perplexity only once or twice. The responses were poor, so I never used it again. I had claimed the free Airtel subscription and never even added any billing details. When I saw the subscription still showing as active in the Airtel app, I contacted Airtel customer care to cancel it, but they said they couldn’t do it from their end. I had signed in using Apple ID, and surprisingly Perplexity has disabled login via mobile number. Their support was even worse. They kept sending verification codes just to confirm my email and check whether my account had an active subscription instead of resolving the issue. Since the subscription was shown as paused, I was worried Perplexity might still bill Airtel and Airtel could eventually pass the charge on to me. To avoid any risk, I added my card, cancelled the subscription, and immediately disabled international transactions. It now shows the plan will end on August 11 and I won’t be charged. To make matters worse, Perplexity doesn’t even allow you to remove your default payment method while a subscription is active. @airtelindia If you are offering free subscriptions in the future, please make sure customers have a simple and visible option to cancel them directly from the Airtel app. That would save everyone a lot of unnecessary frustration.
