Works at a crawling speed much less than even 2G. Makes a lot of people think about changing service providers because of sheer frustration. Take urgent notice.

The network keeps switching between 5G & 4G and it's so frequent that any apps like UPI, Banks and for that matter Airtel Thanks freezes. Voice call drops or disruption too is ALWAYS ON. RUTU (@rutu609) reportedWhy the hell don't telecom companies provide a calling-only plan? the basic recharge, it's starting at ₹349. My papa stays at home. He doesn't need mobile internet. He hardly watches YouTube. All he needs is to keep his SIM active and call his friends and relatives. We already have Wi-Fi at home. He doesn't go outside much except to the farm. He doesn't need 2 GB/day, unlimited 5G, or SMS. I don't think he even uses 1 GB in 28 days. Still, every month I have to recharge ₹349 @reliancejio just to keep his number active and let him make calls. @JioCare and @airtelindia , why are you forcing people to pay for services they don't even use? What should I do? I only want to keep his SIM card active and let him make calls. I don't want to spend ₹350+ every month on data that will never be used. Is there any other option I'm missing? ₹349 may not look like much to some people, but if we're not using 90% of what's included, what's the point? There should be a simple and affordable calling-only and SMS plan, especially for senior citizens and people who don't use mobile data. Anyone else facing the same issue.
