In my case they had picked up the modem but still kept harassing me over phone for return of modem until some 30-45 days back. No amount of informing the telecaller that modem has been picked up helped.

The difference is that people there actually read the plan terms before buying. The real issue is transparency. If unlimited 5G excludes hotspot usage, it should be clearly disclosed before purchase, not hidden in fine print. Consumers deserve clear communication, not surprises. @airtelindia @TRAI
