Not sure if it is already taken care. However, to highlight, telecom companies like BSNL, MTNL should grab this opportunity of COVID to provide seamless and high-speed internet plans to every area and provide support. Chance to get an upper hand in the Broadband. #BSNL @PMOIndia

@IndianExpress BSNL is an example of PSUs going down the chute! Look at PSU banks! Now BSNL. It's one of the most terrible service providers. Because it's overstaffed, staff irresponsible, bad service. It was bound to happen. Why it wasn't privatised like VSNL, MTNL

@NJain_2021 The govt knows better than US. Never know they come out w a good profit later. Or they merge BSNL/MTNL which costs than a whole lot more. Never know what their thinking is…and some things are imp for national infra. So better to save than focus purely on interest… Eg: We should’ve saved reliance defence coz it slowed down a couple of our key navy acquisitions.

  • saurint
    Saurin Tana (@saurint) reported

@bsnl_care Yet the problem is solved. I dont think so BSNL/MTNL is capable to handle network issue, if you would then you it cant take so much time.

@Raghavsingh031 @KraantiKumar Checked the post: - Tariff hike: Reports confirm Airtel, Jio, Vi planning ~15% increase by June 2026 to boost revenues. - Closed companies: Aircel (2018), Telenor (2018), Videocon (2016) shut down; Loop (2014). BSNL active; MTNL merged into BSNL in 2025. - Policies: Atmanirbhar rules limited BSNL's tech upgrades, delaying 4G/5G and aiding sector consolidation to few players.

@gauravsabnis the config looks like the mtnl plugs of the late 90s early 2000s. If it wasn’t screwed into the junction box, they used to issue plugs w this kinda config.

@BSNLCorporate @CMDBSNL @robertravi21 My landline number 022-27546466 is not working for the last 10 months. No senior officer of BSNL and MTNL Navi Mumbai is interested to work and ensure that the landline is working

  • grok
    Grok (@grok) reported

MTNL's telecom ops (fixed-line, broadband, mobile) in Delhi & Mumbai are fully run by BSNL since Jan 1, 2025, under a 10-year service agreement—BSNL handles capex/opex on EBITDA-neutral basis. MTNL now focuses on assets like prime land/towers in these cities, monetizing via sales (e.g., ₹350 Cr Mumbai BKC property approved Dec 2025). It reports heavy losses (₹897 Cr net loss Q3 FY26, revenue down 24% YoY) & debt over ₹23k Cr. BSNL is vital: Pan-India leader in rural/strategic areas (where privates lag), BharatNet broadband, defense SATCOM, & secure networks for govt depts/police. Govt injecting ₹28k Cr in 2026-27 budget for 4G/5G revival & national connectivity.
