So apparently @Airtel_Presence @airtelindia decided to upgrade old sim cards. Said the store manager. W/o any intimation to the customers. At the store there were atleast 5 people with same issue. Each being charged Rs 50 for sim change. Nice way of looting.

@vikramchandra @airtelindia iPhone 12 and later will get 5G. You need a 5G network and enabled SIM card unless using e-sim option. You can go to settings- mobile - mobile data option - voice and data - select 5G auto.
