From Aug 12 2026 to Sep 12 2026, BSNL is reportedly offering SIM cards for just INR Re 1, bundled with 1GB/day data + unlimited calls for 24 days. And there's more, BSNL is also gearing up for a satellite phone service around Aug 15. If BSNL can finally improve its network coverage and internet speeds,Vi, Jio and Airtel may have a real competitor on their hands.

Govt company with too many legacy issues.. still promoting 4G itself tells their state of affairs. Ideally, govt should have closed the company but these BSNL have infra and state has dependency w.r.t secrecy. So, forget BSNL Rs 1 at your own peril.

Dummygod (@RJaybhaye98679) reported@Ajaykumaarji @airtelindia People don’t even need high-speed internet. If BSNL could provide 500-600 kbps speed, people would immediately shift to BSNL. But currently, BSNL is in "no service" mode.
