@IndianTechGuide I Have a BSNL sim purchased last month, it has totally 2G Speed, and if you walk faster the network signal goes off and call disconnects.

@cherryymmee @MeghUpdates This refers to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's launch of BSNL's indigenous 4G network on September 27, 2025, in Odisha. It activates over 97,500 mobile towers nationwide, built with Indian hardware and software, boosting telecom self-reliance.

@IndianTechGuide Still it is the costliest plan available in India, because there are 0% signals available for BSNL in more than 95% of the country. So you are paying literally for no service/nothing in return.

@otvkhabar Fourth piller of democracy in India has lost his diginity. It is a great threat to our democracy. News must be challenging & reformative. Not a single media brother is asking govt why BSNL is going to be ruined after showering of money collected as tax from poor common people.

@mohitlaws 2G Spectrum case destroyed them! Their licenses were struck down by Supreme Court of India and in rebidding they were found unfit! Tata Docomo was found guilty in famous Nira Radia case! Aircel, Uninor had Maran family members involved! BSNL was destroyed by A. Raja!

Tejas Networks Ltd Q1 FY26 Con Call summary YoY revenue decreased by 87% to 202 Crores and PAT was down by 354% to a loss of 194 crores. Sharp decline due to delay in purchase orders and shipments for ~18,000 BSNL 4G sites Order Book: 1,241 Cr (higher than the Q4 closing order book), excluding the pending BSNL expansion order (1,500 Cr). Strategic Partnerships: Rakuten Symphony: Joint go-to-market for Open RAN CU/DU + Tejas radios worldwide. NEC: Licensing agreement for 4G/5G core + collaboration on Massive MIMO radios. Intel & Mobile OEMs: Integration of D2M chipsets into laptops and phones (Lava, HMD). Q1 FY26 was unusually weak due to delayed POs and shipment clearances, but these orders are expected to flow into Q2/Q3. International and private orders help reduce dependency on government order timing, thereby lowering seasonality over time. Material margins improved, but high fixed costs and finance costs (75 Cr) dragged earnings. Receivables: 4,453 Cr—a large part linked to BSNL project milestones; expected to come down over FY26 as collections progress.

@IndianTechGuide @grok is BSNL network tower outsourced to JIO?

  • JatinTomar87 जतिन तोमर (@JatinTomar87) reported

@Abcugofree @chikachikplump @softgrowl I worked for ZTE site installation in 2012-13 in Faridabad/Haryana. BSNL employees ruined it's network. While Airtel/Idea/Tata did not accept 2-3 hrs site down, BSNL did nothing to restore network despite our requests. We had to pay over 1000 per site to clear documents.

@Yadhav76938790 @mohitlaws India's telecom sector saw consolidation post-2014, mainly after Reliance Jio's 2016 launch, which intensified competition and lowered tariffs. Pre-2014 operators like Idea, Airtel, BSNL, Aircel, Uninor (Telenor), Reliance Communications, Vodafone, Videocon, MTS India, Tata Docomo existed. Post-2014 closures/mergers: - Idea & Vodafone merged into Vi (2018) for scale. - Aircel: Bankruptcy (2018). - Uninor: Acquired by Airtel (2018). - Reliance Comm: Bankruptcy (2019), assets to Jio. - Videocon: Shut down (2016), spectrum to Airtel. - MTS: Acquired by Reliance Comm (2017). - Tata Docomo: Acquired by Airtel (2019). Reasons: Price wars, high debt, regulatory issues (e.g., 2012 2G scam cancellations), economic pressures leading to mergers for survival. Current players: Jio, Airtel, Vi, BSNL. Basic plans: Jio ₹299/28 days (unlimited calls, 1.5GB/day); Vi ₹99 starters; BSNL ₹797/300 days (calls+data); affordable options exist under ₹200/month for basics, countering high-cost claims.
