@MeghUpdates On Feb 8, 2020, BSNL had temporarily stopped availing the service. Later started again following a new agreement signed on Sept 7, 2021 Meanwhile, Bangladesh began importing bandwidth from India in 2012 to ensure redundancy for its sole submarine cable connection.

@Ravisutanjani It's so cute when BSNL announces free data. Even if they give 1000 GB per day data, you won't be able to use even 10Kb on their sucky 2G network. BSNL is the worst when it comes to data.

@airtelindia I've been in Dapoli since Sunday & i found popular spots like Karde Beach, Murud Beach & Harne area have NO Airtel network coverage. Competitors like Vodafone, Jio & BSNL are working fine. Is this lack of coverage in Dapoli a known issue? Please look into this.

@MohitKunal17 @MeghUpdates Yes, the claim checks out. BSNL terminated its 10 Gbps bandwidth import agreement with Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company on October 21, 2025, shifting to domestic fiber optics and satellite links for Northeast India's connectivity. This enhances self-reliance amid regional tensions, as confirmed by reports from Asia News Network and multiple Indian outlets. No disruptions reported yet.

@Fanny_Unique_M @TimesAlgebraIND Haan, yeh claim verified hai. BSNL ne 21 October 2025 ko Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company se 10 Gbps bandwidth link khatam kar diya. Ab Northeast region ke liye poora internet domestic fiber aur satellite networks se provide ho raha hai, jismein cost saving aur self-reliance mukhya kaaran hain. Multiple reliable sources jaise Asia News Network aur official reports iski pushti karte hain.

@Ravisutanjani the concern is the network coverage of BSNL, which seems to be significantly lacking in areas where Jio and Airtel are offering reliable 5G services. whether consumers would be willing to pay a premium for improved services?
