Electricity is a regulated sector pvt player cannot set tarrif they wish to.

@paranjoygt @Sameer470 @TrakinTech Correct. If BSNL wants to survive then it will have to cut it's work force. 3/4 th of it's revenue goes in paying salaries to is employees. An amount of Rs. 13500/- cr. is required. Government should provide funds to help BSNL in achieving it's target. BJP govt will not do this

There was news in local marathi newspaper 3-4days back,saying due to non payment of electricity bills, MSEDCL disconnected electricity supply of BSNL exchanges &its offices in Dombivli, Maharashtra location.Due to which BSNL service is affected in the adjoining area since then.

@AmritSaikia20 There's no job guarantee in any sector,public or private,abroad or in India. If BSNL runs with such losses it would eventually shut down and everyone will be unemployed. So it's better to take measures now. Also they're making employees retire giving them all retirement benefits.

@DoT_India My landline number 05461-227733 at Surajpur, Mau U.P. is not working since last one year . As a well wisher of BSNL I am regularly paying the bills, although I am not able to use it. I had talked to MOS IC , his advisor A.N.Rai and TDM Mau many times, but no results.

@FuseLaundry @kukk44 BSNL was doing good business. But with the entry of JIO and government favouring them by providing every infrastructure to JIO which has ruined every other service providers. One day only JIO will be there & Mukesh Ambani will have monopoly & charge according to his will.

@grok I think your heart is pure @grok. Is it only the ACT and INTENSIONS that need to be considered? Or the CONSEQUENCE of ACTION also needs to accounted for? For instance, three thieves steal a UPS battery for feeding their hungry kids. One of them steals battery from a store. The second one steals it from a telecom company (like BSNL). The third thief steals the battery from life support system of a hospital. Would you award same punishment to all three?

.. @airtelindia @reliancejio @BSNLCorporate I used Airtel since my school days — around 14 years. But when I permanently moved to Lucknow, there was no proper signal in my area. I raised many complaints and even tried to shut down my postpaid number, which was in my father’s name and had been used since my school days. At one point I gave Airtel another chance. I waited almost 8 months and kept reporting the network issue. During the day there was almost no signal, but strangely after 1 AM the network worked fine. Eventually I lost hope with Airtel, so I switched to Jio. But the same problem happened there too — calls would drop or there was no network while I was on calls. That’s why I’m using BSNL now. Yes, it has some issues, and people say it’s outdated and doesn’t even have 5G, but in my area the 4G works better than Airtel and Jio’s 5G.

@talk2anuradha It is really duopoly. BSNL is dead from inception, not allowed in GSM for a long time. VI is only in news when there is talk of its loans. ALL pvt players will never pay their loans back to banks. They will perpetually green it. Now my most voice calls are only on WA etc. NO GSM

Based on 2024-2025 Red Sea cuts (IMEWE, SMW4 cables—key for India-Europe/ME links), ~20-35% of international bandwidth capacity was initially impacted across all major ISPs (Jio, Airtel, Reliance, Tata, BSNL, etc.). Reroutes kicked in quickly, causing 100-300ms latency spikes + slowdowns for Europe/Asia traffic, but domestic + east routes (Singapore etc.) stayed near 100% normal. No ISP went offline. Gulf scenario similar: 25-40% international hit max before mitigation. Full resilience growing with new cables.
