@Indianinfoguide IF govt wants BSNL can be the best. But it is purposely kept down so that private players pay huge amt to get spectrum.

@Indianinfoguide There was competition before Jio was offered BSNL towers to spread 4g network and Airtel had to pay and develop all 4 g towers. Is that why BSNL 4g was postponed for the betterment of JIo. How much funds does your party need to make this competition go away?.

@Indianinfoguide Believe NDA Government has invested in Vodafone which is under some tax problem but their services comparatively better and is value for money. They may be given some boost to compete well with Jio and Airtel. BSNL/MTNL would need to upgrade their infra in line with 5G.

My only concerned was undue advantage was given to a new entrant. We would have been still enjoying the cheap internet with 5-6 service providers. But that's not the case now as the duopoly is at the play. VI can shut-down anytime as they don't have cash for capex and BSNL is lethargic with its services.

@Indianinfoguide Why isn’t the indian govt strengthen BSNL? Jio sucks. And the way Ambani used Jio to grab and monopolise the market with freebies should have been stopped by the then govt.

The amount BSNL is to recover from Jio is disputed. The CAG reports a loss of ₹1,757.76 crore due to BSNL's failure to bill Jio for infrastructure sharing from May 2014 to March 2024. BSNL contests this, claiming no loss and that the figure is overestimated, with only ₹108 crore currently invoiced to Jio. The issue remains unresolved, with ongoing legal and operational disputes.
