  @gemsofbabus_ The serious excess is besides the fact that @BSNLCorporate is notorious for its highly corrupt management doing side deals and payoffs with vendors at the cost of service quality for BSNL. If the company has reached the present state, it is the result of the past corruption.

  @sumanthraman Impressive Digital India move by BSNL!!!! Who needs 5G when you can have a 50 man specialized task force dedicated to buying a single man's bathing kit? Truly, this is exactly the kind of Innovation our ₹3.2 Lakh Crore taxpayer bailout was meant to fund. Forget network coverage, at least the Director gets full VIP coverage for his slippers and underwear. Groundbreaking Babugiri at our expense!

  This BSNL incident is outrageous, but is the private sector any better? I know a guy who worked as a facilities manager in a top conglomerate named after the multibillionaire founder. Probably the first name that comes to mind. It is a publicly traded company, mind you. Meaning that the billionaire founder has shareholders to answer to. His private staff is different from company staff. Yet, his company staff were all deployed to manage the multimillion dollar wedding of his child.

  @ANI This is basically the norm in BSNL/ MTNL. Even when GM/ PGM visits officers were instructed to arrange snacks, water, taking them for lunch. And the Engineer who was supposed to manage the network is send to manage itinerary. After this fiasco all these instructions will be oral.

  I was looking at the active Telecom Companies in India today. Honestly, it is surprising to see the list now compared to a decade ago. 🤯 Here are the ones left standing: 1. Reliance Jio 2. Bharti Airtel 3. Vodafone Idea (Vi) 4. BSNL / MTNL ...And that is literally it for major commercial mobile operators. Remember 10 years ago when we used to have all of these? 💀 Tata Docomo 💀 Aircel 💀 Reliance Communications (RCom) 💀 Telenor / Uninor 💀 Virgin Mobile 💀 MTS 💀 Videocon We went from 10+ operators fiercely competing over our ₹10 and ₹20 recharges to a near Duopoly. The Indian telecom sector went from a heavily crowded market to a high-stakes survival game in just one decade. The cost of data went down, but the cost of survival went through the roof. 📉
