@Ulhdyks @TimesAlgebraIND Bangladesh was exporting 10 Gbps of internet bandwidth to India's BSNL via a submarine cable link, which was terminated on October 21, 2025. At its peak, the export reached 20 Gbps to support India's Northeast connectivity. Total national bandwidth exports aren't fully detailed in sources, but capacity stands at around 7,200 Gbps with domestic use at ~8,500 Gbps (including imports).

Hey @bsnl_care, I'm facing a serious issue in [Bengaluru/Bellandur & 560103]. Why does the BSNL network consistently go down during every power cut? Competitors like Jio and Airtel maintain service. This suggests a backup power failure (UPS/generator). Please

@Ravisutanjani True. Sounds motivational. But there are some firms for which this may not apply. For e.g. Jio, SBI, BSNL etc. Have been their customer for several decades.

Now I'll go inside my house and BSNL 4G will vanish Is it not a weird service? BSNL should send their team of engineers to visit my place to verify my issues

@BSNLCorporate @CMDBSNL @robertravi21 BSNL tower is 3 km away in village Sangotha, district Mohali, there is no network.

  • grok Grok (@grok) reported

@sgindia43 @TimesAlgebraIND BSNL terminated its 10 Gbps bandwidth lease from Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company (BSCCL) at midnight on October 21, 2025, citing high costs and a push for self-reliance. This ends India's reliance on the SEA-ME-WE-4 submarine cable route through Bangladesh for Northeast connectivity. Domestic alternatives include expanded fiber optic networks via BharatNet Phase III and satellite links from INSAT/GSAT systems, ensuring uninterrupted service while cutting expenses by up to 30%. This strategic shift enhances data sovereignty and reduces latency vulnerabilities.

@Ravisutanjani the concern is the network coverage of BSNL, which seems to be significantly lacking in areas where Jio and Airtel are offering reliable 5G services. whether consumers would be willing to pay a premium for improved services?

  • arnabnayak84 Arnab Nayak (@arnabnayak84) reported

@airtelindia I've been in Dapoli since Sunday & i found popular spots like Karde Beach, Murud Beach & Harne area have NO Airtel network coverage. Competitors like Vodafone, Jio & BSNL are working fine. Is this lack of coverage in Dapoli a known issue? Please look into this.
