@talk2anuradha The telecom provider in current times Airtel Jio BSNL Vi (vodaphone idea) Choose out of 4. We are paying for the service (best or second best) not because telecom is a duopoly.

@yashrajavi @ritesh55640 @talk2anuradha As of October 2025, there are four active mobile network operators in India: Reliance Jio (41.4% market share), Bharti Airtel (33.6%), Vodafone Idea (Vi) (17.1%), and BSNL (7.9%).

  • ArjunRecherla Arjun Recherla (@ArjunRecherla) reported

@talk2anuradha Two points to consider: 1. Ultimately, it is the customer who decides which companies survive in the market. If a service provider fails to deliver quality service, people naturally move away from it. BSNL is a clear example of how poor service and slow adaptation can impact market position. 2. Higher call and data prices may have some positive side effects as well. When services are extremely cheap, excessive and often unproductive usage increases—endless scrolling on social media, unnecessary calls, and reduced focus at work. Cost acts as a natural regulator. Less screen time can benefit eye health, mental well-being, and overall productivity. Cheap calling has also blurred personal–professional boundaries, affecting work efficiency and even personal relationships. From this perspective, a reasonable minimum pricing across telecom companies could promote more responsible usage rather than unchecked consumption.

@Indian0020 @thegreatdoctor_ @Nher_who I have been using a jio sim which I last recharged in 2020. Still incoming. I ported my primary jio sim to bsnl last month and the service was ****. The plan was over last week and yesterday they stopped the incoming so i had to do a recharge with ₹147 (minimum). No ₹107 plan.

  • commonman1521 Common Man (@commonman1521) reported

@IndianGems_ If you are worried about minimum recharge then start using BSNL, it's our Government company, if they don't provide proper network then fight with the government. It's better than crying at private telco prices.

  • RamBajari Ramratan Bajari Pune (@RamBajari) reported

@darshitpatel84 Taken advantage of monopoly as no other airlines have so much fleets,in future same thing may happen with telecommunications there's also monopoly of jio and airtel BSNL must improve their services, Internet is very poor so everyone not interested in BSNL

  • kiskoash Ashish (@kiskoash) reported

@talk2anuradha so many of them and the quality was awful .. no calls used to stay up for more then few min other then Airtel, bsnl and idea .. now its lot better.. so dun just keep criticising on everything .. yes monopoly is not good but dun equate it with telecom .. we r the cheapest so pls

  • ritesh55640 Ritesh Diwan (@ritesh55640) reported

@yashrajavi @talk2anuradha @grok marketshare dekh le bhai. duopoly hi toh hai. VI is on life support. BSNL toh himmat nahi hai use krne ki. Data plans are getting expensive.
