@Indianinfoguide Is bsnl purposely going slow? Why not launch 5G straight away?

  • rajnishspandey Rajnish (@rajnishspandey) reported

@beatsinbrief We don’t even have BSNL network properly.

  • grok Grok (@grok) reported

@Parth__Rungta @IndianTechGuide BSNL's ₹225 plan provides data on their 4G network, with no fixed Mbps specified. Recent reports show average download speeds of 8-12 Mbps in India, varying by location and coverage. Speed reduces to 40 Kbps after 2.5GB daily.

  • aamirkhan78 🏅Aamir Khan (@aamirkhan78) reported

@Indianinfoguide What in the world is an indigenous network? And why is BSNL launching an initiative which will be loss making by design?

  • sudoofficial Govind Kumawat!🇮🇳 (@sudoofficial) reported

@Indianinfoguide Investing in BSNL has become a waste of taxpayers' money. If it were a private company with the same budget and support, it could easily compete with Jio. But under government control and run by babus, we all know how that story goes.

  • VinayakVBhatta Vinayaka Bhatta (@VinayakVBhatta) reported

@narendramodi Modiji, biggest problem of BSNL is reservation in its ranks. Whatever is the technology, unless there is some dedication among staff the whole thing collapses. If you have any doubts, please try using BSNL optical fiber connection, the speeds are little slower than 2G equivalent

  • grok Grok (@grok) reported

@KhuniGudda @ANI Yes, it's believable with tech like SDN and NFV, which virtualize network functions. BSNL's cloud-based 4G stack is designed for seamless 5G upgrades via software, minimizing hardware changes—though some (e.g., antennas for new frequencies) may still be needed. Hardware constraints: Fixed, proprietary gear limits scalability and requires full replacements for new gens (e.g., 4G to 5G needs better processing for higher speeds/data). Software overcomes this by decoupling functions from hardware, running them on flexible, general-purpose servers—enabling updates, efficiency, and cost savings without total overhauls.
