Papps (@papps_gunner) reported@NalinisKitchen @raghav_chadha I have no issues in both telcos raising tariffs. We still have the lowest tariffs in the world. And everyone forgets there is a third operator if you don’t want the above 02, BSNL. Most of India is now dependent more on Data and less on calls (WhatsApp calls thanks). Hence it only makes sense to focus on data plans and increase the ARPU

Equity Pulse (@prashanth09801) reportedTelecom is effectively a Jio-Airtel duopoly (93% subscriber share). Vi and BSNL survive but are structurally weak with high debt, low network investment. Real competition needs a financially strong 3rd/4th player, to keep tariffs in check with inflation

𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗣 𝗠𝗢𝗗𝗔𝗞 (@IamSandipModak) reported@reliancejio @JioCare The company will simply cut off the service once the validity period ends; they certainly won't extend it for me. We are paying for the service but not receiving it. Do my money and time hold no value? In my area, BSNL 4G is far better than your network. I am going to switch to.

Sri (@srisubhansh) reported@virajraundal8 cheap Internet services expanded due to cheap smartphones started getting available after 2013, also which include 4g spectrum tech which was more effecient than 3g, also govt flagship progam that allows private companies to rent or buy bsnl infra for fix amount of time.

Abhay Gupta (@stockster_in) reportedHere's why now, and not some other year. Airtel's ARPU sits around ₹254, Jio's near ₹214 — both companies want that number higher to justify what they've spent building out 5G. And the market's down to basically three real players plus BSNL, so none of them are worried about losing you to a cheaper competitor if everyone moves at the same time. One estimate going around has Airtel's 28-day unlimited plan going from ₹319 to ₹419. Jio's daily 1.5GB plan, ₹299 to somewhere near ₹359. Nothing's official yet. But three separate research houses landing in the same range in the same few weeks isn't a coincidence — that's a company telling the market what it's about to do before it tells you.
