@nppatil31589 @BSNL_UPEast But 900 can be used for 4G and 700 can be used for 5G. Bcz all 4G phones support 900Mhz, all 5G phones support 700Mhz. BSNL took a bad step here, Users facing issues due to this, either BSNL has to increase signal strength or increase the number of towers.

@anniezaidi @pranesh In general, the government is the oligarch or monopolist when it comes to pricing - BSNL's mobile services were extremely expensive, and even land lines, until private players came about. The state owned VSNL was ridiculously expensive until Bharti etc cut them down.

BSNL has been losing subscribers mainly because it hasn’t fully rolled out high-speed 4G and 5G services yet, so customers are switching to private players like Jio and Airtel who offer better network quality and faster data at competitive prices. To address this, the Government of India has launched a massive revival package for BSNL, is mandating government departments to use its services, and is pushing for rapid 4G expansion—especially in rural and strategic areas—to help BSNL modernize and regain lost ground.
