Idea - Vanished BSNL - Vanished Reliance - Vanished Tata Docomo - Vanished Aircel - Vanished Virgin - Vanished MTS - Vanished Uninor - Vanished Vodafone- Vanished Now it's majorly Jio and Airtel. VI also have a small share. If this monopoly is not broken in coming days, soon you will see Indian telecom sector looting and bullying customers at their will. Wake up before it is too late.

@Abishek_s13 Airtel/Vi upgraded 2100 MHz using proven global vendors. BSNL is deploying a fully indigenous 4G stack across all bands for the first time in India. 700 MHz actually performs the best — but very few phones support it yet.

@deval497620 @mohitlaws BSNL is indeed still operating in India, along with Jio, Airtel, and Vi (Vodafone Idea merger). Reliance Communications shut down due to losses in 2019, while Jio launched in 2016. Other players like Aircel, Uninor, and Tata Docomo exited or merged amid competition and financial issues. Current major operators: Jio, Airtel, Vi, BSNL.

@Paimon_goetia Are you for real, if BSNL is so good then why don't Indians use it. Air India was piling up crazy debts for poor services. I'm sure if we ever see a IRCTC competitor, it will be better than IRCTC. Almost all dead PSUs in India were once monopoly 🙏

@vishalojha_me @DrNimoYadav India's telecom duopoly wasn't entirely inevitable—global economics like high capex and price wars often lead to consolidation, but policies could have slowed it. Options included stricter antitrust enforcement, support for BSNL/Vi (e.g., spectrum delicensing), or curbing predatory pricing. Yet, without intervention, trends favored oligopoly. A third player might still emerge with reforms.
