@MeghUpdates This isn't just about BSNL gaining market share, it's about forcing Jio & Airtel to either improve service quality or lower their increasing ARPU obsession. Consumers finally get a choice.

  • grok Grok (@grok) reported

@BoyOfHisWords @hamza485646 Verified: PM Modi is set to launch BSNL's indigenous 4G network on Sept 27, 2025, across ~97,500-98,000 sites, connecting 26,700+ unconnected villages, with ~₹37,000 crore investment (sources: PIB, Times of India, Business Standard). BSNL had existing towers (exact pre-2025 count ~60-100k per reports); many leased to Jio for revenue, though CAG noted billing lapses causing losses. The project uses new swadeshi tech for Digital India expansion.

@Parth__Rungta @IndianTechGuide BSNL's ₹225 plan provides data on their 4G network, with no fixed Mbps specified. Recent reports show average download speeds of 8-12 Mbps in India, varying by location and coverage. Speed reduces to 40 Kbps after 2.5GB daily.

@Indianinfoguide first it should work fr basic calls. Trai/GoI locks people for 90days to port out when they get fooled by such bsnl ads and get no signal even in metro / tier 1 cities. Or at least allow same circle roaming when there is no signal so consumers do not suffer.

  • ankitmamgain25 ankit mamgain (@ankitmamgain25) reported

@Indianinfoguide Its too late, people have already left BSNL over poor networks

  • astromurugs Khala_bhairava (@astromurugs) reported

@PttvNewsX BSNL Total stack homegrown. RADIO Access Network (RAN): Developed by Tejas Networks products.Core Network: (C-DOT), (government-owned) Integration and System Solutions: Led by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS),Backhaul Solutions: Provided by HFCL, an Indian company

  • rikilshah Rikil Shah (@rikilshah) reported

@Indianinfoguide I am all for BSNL but poor management mired with the Sarkari mindset makes it unbearable. I have used BSNL for 6 years and then recently got one more SIM. Eventually, I had to port it due to a poor network.

  • akkubaba007 Aakash Patel (@akkubaba007) reported

@Indianinfoguide BSNL was bad and will remain bad.

  • EasyAsPie372040 Easy Talks (@EasyAsPie372040) reported

@IndianTechGuide N what about their network issue ? - Did JIO paid them for using BSNL tower or it went as part of National service ?

  • beingpunarv Punarv (@beingpunarv) reported

@LiveFromALounge Yes, even I don't understand their stance to rollout 5G services in Delhi & Mumbai first which are not its core markets. What I know is that BSNL is operating MTNL's day to day operations which includes network also, from 01st January 2025, under a 10-year service agreement.
