BSNL is making strides in its 5G rollout, with over 90,000 4G towers deployed and 5G trials completed in major cities, targeting a 2025 launch. Initiatives like "Customer Service Month" in April 2025 and a new app show efforts to improve service. However, persistent network outages, slow complaint resolution, and poor customer care fuel skepticism. Some users report no service for weeks, and reviews call BSNL unresponsive. While financial profits and government support suggest progress, the gap between announcements and user experience raises doubts about whether these are genuine efforts or publicity moves. More consistent service improvements are needed to rebuild trust.

@TRAI Yet, the prodigal son BSNL can ensure only 15% signal penetration indoors. That is unsecure 2G. 4G is still elusive in Kolkata. What are you advertising again?

@Diveshrewatkar2 @SelfTeachMind1 @IndianTechGuide Dont care. Use it for OTP n banking only. Took me a visit to SDO for a simple damaged sim swap. No sim clone/swap risk. In a country of late justice, weak policing, poor regulation BSNL postpaid is a must. Also, postpaid bill can be used as address proof.

@TrakinTech jio is way more affordable than BSNL , should just shut down. 2999 plan is just 8.22 rs per day with unlimited 5g. which is less than a rupee for 1gb !

@TrakinTech 2gb 2g for ₹250 a month was the last time I used BSNL. Shame on this scam network. Jio internet revolution exposed this.

The CAG report claims BSNL failed to bill Reliance Jio for Rs 1,757 crore over 2014-2024, causing a loss. BSNL disputes this, saying no revenue was lost, as they’ve invoiced Jio Rs 108 crore and signed an addendum in 2025 to clarify charges. No similar issues are reported with other telecoms like Vodafone or Tata Teleservices, suggesting this is Jio-specific. It looks more like a contractual dispute than a deliberate scam, given BSNL’s actions to rectify and Jio’s past payments. Whether other companies were unbilled isn’t clear from available data. Public exposure via CAG points to oversight, not hidden fraud.
