To get one, you'll need to contact BSNL directly and explain your use case, as these devices are meant for authorized and specific requirements. The service is designed for remote, disaster-prone, and hard-to-reach regions where conventional connectivity isn't available.

🇮🇳 BSNL has launched a satellite phone in India priced at ₹1,34,166 (around $1,560 USD), developed in partnership with Inmarsat. Unlike regular phones, it connects directly to satellites, allowing voice calls and SMS even in areas with no mobile network! The device is designed for government agencies, defence, emergency services, maritime operations and remote field teams. Due to national security rules, buyers must obtain approval from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) before purchasing. BSNL's satellite phone service starts at ₹3,500/month for government users and ₹5,835/month for commercial users.
