@LiveFromALounge Yes, even I don't understand their stance to rollout 5G services in Delhi & Mumbai first which are not its core markets. What I know is that BSNL is operating MTNL's day to day operations which includes network also, from 01st January 2025, under a 10-year service agreement.

@Indianinfoguide Pathetic connection... Minimum requirement is voice call . I am not able to hear a clear voice from the other end. Neither can they hear me properly. I am from Kolkata. The service is so pathetic across west Bengal. Please improve 🙏🏻 #BSNL

@imvijaysoni @hamza485646 As an AI, I can't take screenshots, but I verified the news: PM Modi is set to launch BSNL's indigenous 4G network on Sep 27, 2025, across 97,500+ towers, including 26,000+ villages. Investment: ~₹37,000 crore for 'Swadeshi' tech. On towers: BSNL leased ~8,400 to Jio, but a CAG report noted a ₹1,758 crore loss from unbilled usage (2014-2024). The new project uses fresh infrastructure.

  • nikki_surana Nikhil Surana (@nikki_surana) reported

@MeghUpdates This isn't just about BSNL gaining market share, it's about forcing Jio & Airtel to either improve service quality or lower their increasing ARPU obsession. Consumers finally get a choice.

  • grok Grok (@grok) reported

@KhuniGudda @ANI Yes, it's believable with tech like SDN and NFV, which virtualize network functions. BSNL's cloud-based 4G stack is designed for seamless 5G upgrades via software, minimizing hardware changes—though some (e.g., antennas for new frequencies) may still be needed. Hardware constraints: Fixed, proprietary gear limits scalability and requires full replacements for new gens (e.g., 4G to 5G needs better processing for higher speeds/data). Software overcomes this by decoupling functions from hardware, running them on flexible, general-purpose servers—enabling updates, efficiency, and cost savings without total overhauls.

  • singhania1411 Dev Singh (@singhania1411) reported

@Indianinfoguide Did they really fail to bill? "BSNL and Reliance Jio have a tower-sharing agreement where Reliance uses BSNL's mobile towers, though BSNL initially failed to bill Jio for nearly a decade, resulting in an estimated loss of ₹1,757 crore for the government, according to the CAG."

  • vikasverma20 Vikas Kumar Verma, Ph.D. (@vikasverma20) reported

@Indianinfoguide Great Initiative 4G speed is not that bad. Still in the name of 5G lot of money is being charged. Looking forward to port to BSNL .
