    @Sanju_Lakshya I think this is a good move if the govt is smart enough to merge the services of bsnl and VI and create a much stronger govt owned telecommunications network in India - even stronger than jio, ACT and all.

    Those saying that the government can merge BSNL with Vodafone Idea, please note that the government is now the single largest shareholder not the promoter. Vodafone and Aditya Birla Group, together acting in concert remain the promoters of the company. Also overall a bad move.

    @SumantWandekar1 @anshuman1tiwari Govt. doesn't want stake .. they juat want to retain biggest player in telecom. BSNL isn't profit making org now, its white elephant. But still BSNL should also get some support.

    @BoyInWilderness Visit the official BSNl Self Care portal. Sign in using your credentials and captcha verification. On the next page, click on 'Billing Account Number' Choose 'Modify Services' from the options on the left. Click on 'Change Tariff Plan'

    That's certainly good for Indus tower but provided over a long run they will be able to retain the marketshare. If long term fate of VI is BSNL then its certainly the bad news for Indus towers.
